I have this fight recorded. The punch that caused the swelling was definitely due to the glove rubbing smearing Angulo's eye! no it wasn't a blatant thumb but it was an awkward landing of the punch not a clean blow. That swelling was Rahman style swelling.
That fight was definately Laras toughest. Why no respect for Angulo for forcing Lara to dig deep? either way Lara is not an elite fighter, neither is Angulo same for Canelo. What this fight is is a good old Mexican brawl or at least thats what the promoters are hoping for.
Mark my words Lara is overrated and probably will not even be better than say Casamayor's career as far as Cubans go let alone p4p!

I think it was I forget, and Lara could only rehydrate like 10 pounds where Angulo didn't have a limit, I forget the details.

Poor Angulo though, Lara went in on him. I don't blame Angulo for "quitting". The eye looked bad. That was a good fight from both guys and one of my favorite fights of the year.

You and not many other people are watching your Cubans on HBO and Showtime, hahaha. Rigondeaux vs. Agbeko did 550,000 viewers, "making it the lowest rated HBO Boxing After Dark main event in its 17-year history". Lara vs. Trout did the lowest numbers of the 12/7 Showtime broadcast with 429,000 viewers, hahaha. P4P list? Rigo, yeah. Who thinks Lara is P4P? You? Hahaha.

You're a salty Cuban that's jealous of Mexicans, PERIOD. Any thread about a Mexican, and you're in there hating. You know damn well you hate Mexicans. And when there's a Mexican vs. Mexican fight you go for the less popular one, not because you want either of them to win, but because you want it to hurt the Mexican boxing landscape. You're a clown. I think a Mexican probably f**ked your mother and your parents divorced or something. Is that why you hate Mexicans? Lara beat Angulo, does that mean every Cuban is better than any Mexican? Is that what you want to hear? All Cubans are better than Mexicans.

Discrediting Canelo filling 40,000 seats in San Antonio, haha. You said the tix were 4 for $10? Try 1 for $10, and only a limited amount.

All your Cubans combined will never fill 40,000 seats in their life.

You don't even give props to your Cuban fighters in most of your posts, your focus is discrediting Mexicans. F**kin' clown.
You seem to be upset too. That's actually pretty funny. Idk where you got the idea that I said 4 tickets for 10 dollars. Matter of fact, I have no idea WTF you're talking about. Lol

          Lara - Man of Steel

People who think a fkin thumb caused an eye to swell that big have never worn a pair of gloves in their life.

People talking about a thumb in a eye . It did swell grotesquely after the supposed thumbing but Lara had been hitting that eye all night . I had noticed slight swelling when the round started . At the end of the fight Angulo's whole face was was ****** . One side was much worse thou

I consider Vanes' whole career one big wasted opportunity. An Olympic athlete with one of the more reputable trainers around, one of the best promoters in the biz, (was) undefeated for a long run - to me it looked like he had all the ingredients to be a somebody in boxing. But somehow he kept flip floping between televised and untelevised fights before finally landing that WBO title shot and put in an uninspiring effort. At this rate I see Vanes being reduced to a Top Rank stepping stone for a JMW or MW prospect or being let go a la Mercito Gesta style.

                    Look,,,

Lara punched angulo in the eye and did a punch of damage,,, did the thumb cause some, yes, but not all,,, it was a legal shot by Lara

Angulo quit but I don't blame him, it wasn't an Ortiz type quit job,, more of any injury stoppage,,, no way do I expect a guy to go on with an injury like that,,, if he goes on that cool and I will give him huge props, but if he doesn't, I'm not going to rag on him and call him a quitter
