Comments Thread For: Lara To Hunter: Angulo is a Quitter, I'll End His Career!

WBA interim-junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara came firing back at veteran coach Virgil Hunter, who trains Alfredo Angulo. Earlier today at a press conference in Los Angeles, Hunter had some words for Lara and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

During press conference, which officially announced the March 8th battle between Canelo and Angulo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Hunter voiced his response to Canelo's constant complaints that "Mayweather ran" in their fight. And he also held nothing back with his comments about the fight with Lara.

lara can say all he wants to,but slow,no defense Angulo had him on his ass twice and it was a close fight, lara was supposed to shine against a very limited fighter and he didn't,,he's upset that he's a nobody in this sport, just a boring fighter who brings nothing to the table, why is he calling out canelo who just lost?.is he that desperate for money? go make your own career, fight other champs, call out other fighters who are winning, don't call out a guy who just lost,if he cant get good fights at 154 then move up and challenge golovkin, imagine if a very limited fighter in Angulo dropped him silly what would this guy do,he needs to shut up

Lara , you are right . Angulo quit and that is why he is called "the chihuahua " instead of el perro. And Canelo is the big ducker , a joke.

Made it thru adversity and made the guy quit, sounds like qualities of a champion to me. Oh and he's been calling our Canelo since before he lost.

Sounds to me like the only one upset here is you. Angulo quit.

No, you won't. Running from someone doesn't end them in any way, you're lucky a freak accident took place and his eye ballooned abnormally; otherwise you would have lost that fight and by KO. He is also getting a bigger payday than what you've ever made.

The ring appeared to be smaller than normal but Angulo was cutting him off really well. Makes me sick to hear people call Angulo a coward/quitter, there's no way he could have fought through that injury. I'd love to see a rematch.
