He's the KING because I say he's the KING. Isn't there a Floyd thread to hate in? Or Calzaghe? Or Klitschko?

CW of 153 for a 154 fight. I'm convinced half of the posters have only been watching boxing for the past year.

Not scared but he certainly hedged his bets. Martinez is an ageing, injury ridden fighter. Canelo is still young, strong and fresh. He fancies his chances of beating Sergio much better than he does Canelo.
You implied that Cottos team believing that Martinez is washed up only to be sorely mistaken gave the statement that very impression, I don't know how exactly that is supposed to read (he won't be tired at the end.) You apparently live or are from the UK... I'm Puerto Rican/Cuban and I have a better understanding of the English language, that's pretty bad.

While I can agree with hedging his bets (that is exactly what he did) having a better chance at beating Sergio has nothing to do with it. Any boxer thinks they can beat anyone you can't afford to think any other way. In reality, beating Canelo does nothing for Cotto there is no belt at stake and if he were to win Canelo would just become another hypejob. Believe it or not the simple fact of the matter is that beating the lineal MW champion of the world, in your 4th personal weightclass is worth more than 10 million dollars. I mean seriously, how is IMPROVING your ****ing legacy a step down from fighting a popular red head. I'm not even that old and it's sad that boxing "fans" think this way... You should even be in the fighting game if you think 10 million is worth more than the legacy status Cotto is going for.

The King of what though? He's never been pound-for-pound no1. He's never even been the no1 in any weight class. He's never been the no1 draw in the sport. So what is he? King of Margarito's back pocket?

A catchweight is still a catchweight though.

Hard to talk down on other catchweights when Cotto's done it himself and that wasn't even against good opposition.

You can't be serious. Roach is the first to mention the catchweight. He's on YouTube saying it. And then Sergio Martinez had this to say too about the negotiations:

He should never forget that I'm the champion. He has a lot of demands, but I'm the champion... I would like to fight Cotto, but he is showing signs that he doesn't want to [fight], by asking for complicated conditions and he does not respect boxing history...
I mean, Cotto even wanted to walk out SECOND, and have Martinez walk into the ring first like he's the challenger!

I like Cotto, but I call a spade, a spade. If they fight, I will be there @ Madison Square for sure way up in the front. I think he beats Martinez IMO. But I'm not gonna sit here and front for Cotto.

Well... Cotto has to at least be good considering he beat Judah and you said Judah only loses to good fighters. You lame theory is put to rest... Cotto also beat Clottey and Paulie who also beat Judah.

The King of Puerto Rican Boxing for a year or two?

The King of fading late? Maybe that's a tad harsh. Plus your joke was better.

Margarito was the bigger man and Cotto fought him 6 pounds higher in the rematch, stop b*tching.
