it's a rap folks, no chance Cotto beats Martinez at the full 160 middle weight. Martinez is going to put a hurting on Cotto for sure, and Cotto is going to wish he took those 10 million from Canelo!

But he still has 3 Lineal Titles at the full weight limit.

So I don't think he need to take any notes considering he's already done it 3 times.
        Point taken.

I'm pretty sure Cotto wanted a catchweight, but it was denied by Team Martinez. So in order to make the fight, he had to agree to eventually roll with 160 lbs or step away from the table.
And your source? Oh, You don't have one.

Because Sergio Martinez doesn't come into a fight at 157 or 158. And there's more than enough information about that. Whenever there is a 30-day weigh-in, he stays well above 170 lbs. So any talk of 157 or 158 for Martinez is just fantasy land talk. Martinez would never agree to catchweight because it's difficult for him to make 160 lbs as it is.

He'd agree to 157 or 158 lbs maybe if it was Pacquaio or Mayweather though, because of the boat loads of money involved, fame, etc. But no way he's going to do it for Cotto.

cotto will fight canelo after he loses to martinez. cotto is the new zab judah but people just don't realize it. unmotivated fighter who only fights for a couple rounds, destroys bums, loses to anyone good.

I think the comparison is that Mayweather said he wouldn't fight Martinez unless it was at 150.

Here's a hint -- you wouldn't need to release information about there being no catchweight if there was no info about it circulating in the first place. After all, it is for the Middleweight belt.

Circulating yes, doesn't mean Cotto requested it though. He could have, but in the post fight presser for the Rodriguez fight, Roach made it clear they wanted Sergio at the full 160.
