Ward did get a pass for not fighting Bute..I guess it was cause he just had won the super six..No can deny tho,he did not fight Bute for whatever reason..

I dont really care that Bute turned down SS, i'm not a fan of his and i'm not defending him for that. Doesnt change the fact he was the best Ward could face at the time. Someone who he would have made money off, won a belt, got even more credit for taking on all challengers. Poor decision from Ward imo

well, you should, because not fighting in the tournament is significant, and the reason they didn't fight twice. i can't do much for you if you don't understand that.

why do you care so much about ward turning down a fight, when you don't care about bute turning one down?

Ward's excuses were tame at best.
        It most certainly wasn't.

I said even back then that Bute wasn't as good as people thought he was. Plus, he looked dead at the weight for a couple of fights.

Some even ranked him above Ward! I always thought that was ridiculous. Most people were conveniently forgetting that this dude was laid out by Andrade who Kessler had smashed to bits for 12 rounds when he was on top of his game.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Showtime claim they never invited Bute.

The fight was at its peak after the Super Six and Ward walked away from it.

I'm not trying to say anything negative about Ward..He did not try and fight Bute tho..That's just being honest..I agree,Ward deserved a break after winning the Super Six..I really don't remember when Ward got injured either tbh..All I remember was thinking that Ward would put the blows on Bute..Then the fight never happening..It just seemed like Ward was the reason as well..

I knew Froch would beat Bute as well..Bute never fought anyone of note..I'm just going on memory here..I remember feeling surprised that ward Bute was not being made..Cause it seemed as if Wards side did not really want the fight..

It most certainly was. What fights were bigger than Ward-Bute at the time?

It doesn't really matter how good you thought he was. He was a huge name and ticket seller in Canada. It was a big money fight - certainly the biggest Ward could get at the time.

I explained in that same post why it doesnt matter in this argument.

Bute was the fighter Ward should have faced after the tournament.
