Comments Thread For: SHaw: HBO Took a Pass on Golovkin-Geale Fight

According to promoter Gary Shaw, HBO took a pass, for the moment, on a potential fight between Daniel Geale (29-2, 15KOs) and WBA/IBO champion Gennady Golovkin.

Geale, who Shaw promotes, is scheduled to face Garth Wood (12-3-1, 8KOs) on February 19th in Syndey Australia, and Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs) defends his title on February 1 against Osumanu Adama (22-3, 16KOs).

Why? I have to repeat: "Why? If they give him Geale, they will be literally forced to give him Martinez next!

... But without Geale... Golovkin will have to stay "untested yet", "who did he beat, actually?", etc..."

Since Russian Crushin is so quick to accuse Quillin of ducking GGG lets see what he has to say about this.

How in the world does "Interested" but "exploring other options" turn into "passing on the fight"? I'm confused

+They both have fights scheduled. Why would Gary expect a deal already done?

Yeah this is shoddy journalism trying to lure clicks.

Hougigo did a better job in his thread rather than this blatant attempt at gaining hits: http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=624160

This where HBO can shine on a PPV. GGG vs. James Kirkland is HOT!!! The undercard has to be ON BLAST for a PPV event, but it it a BIG TIME fight. I would LOVE to see it on a Manny undercard! GET IT DONE BOB (if you can work with 50 Cents).

Keep spoon feeding this champ bums. If this were Berto or Broner it's Haymons fault.

                    **** you, HBO. Golovkin/Kirkland instead of Golovkin/Geale? **** you.

Golovkin's team and Golovkin himself better speak against this.
