Cotto's jab was timing him, but I don't think an opponent can make you look physically slower than you actually are. You can be getting your butt whooped, but still look as fast as you are.
    Maybe, maybe. That's another theory.

One way or another I think the Cotto fight was a slight reality check for Floyd and he's made an adjustment or two since.

The Oscar fight coincidentally I thought he looked quite slow. First fight at 154 and to me he's never looked great at 154 physically as opposed to 147. Looked abit bulky to me and abit slower.

I think he's quite considerably worse in pretty much every category. Other than I think he's physically abit stronger now in clinches and such as opposed to the 00's.

Although, Cotto was completely manhandling him in the clinch when they fought.

Abit of a basless line of thought here but I personally think that's why he's started to box more after that fight as opposed to fight toe to toe. I think he fell for the "hype" that he's really strong in clinch after the Mosley fight and after Cotto was clearly much stronger than him he re-evaluated that.
Re watch the Oscar fight. He looks very fast in that fight, compared to his Cotto fight. Then you go to the Canelo fight, and he looks just as fast as his Oscar fight.

He's stronger in one of the most important aspects for him. In the clinch and punching power/snap wise.

That's not just a minor improvement. He depends on that clinch work heavily, when he's taking a break.

The guy's doping. It's so damn obvious. His face looks like it wants to explode out of his head. I know the PED look.

Chavez would win either by KO or clear UD, his relentless pressure, body work, and great inside game would overcome Floyd's defence.

Sadly I've watched that fight numerous times.

We just agree to disagree I suppose. We see things differently.

                Mayweather UD

It's easy to discredit a fighter that's still active. It's also just as easy to exaggerate one that's long retired. Seems to be the case here.

When Mayweather is done he'll go down as the greatest of all time. Chavez is still the greatest 140lb but still.

Mayweather throughout history has met aggressive punchers with his own aggression and done very very well in these cases. Chavez got lucky getting a draw against Whitaker....whom doesn't have all the tools Mayweather does.

great joke... greatest of all time... He's lucky to even be called great without ever taking the risk that a real champion should. Ever heard of sugar ray leanard he is far above floyd and has losses want to know why cause like the GREAT he is he took the risk required . Chavez sr stops that little pssy girl fraud

Floyd wins via 2yr Vacation = no punishment needed. When you come back people will say he would've beat him anyways. Why even fight ***** works everytime
