I think Floyd is stopped late; doesn't handle pressure as well as he does everything else.

Chavez was much better than Jose L. Castillo but had a similar style. But I doubt Mayweather would have taken the fight if they fought in the same era.

This fight would never have happened but if we are in dream world, something floyd****ers like so much then here goes, Chavez threw punches in bunches, Floyd hates that. Chavez could work on the inside, Floyd works well on the inside too. Chavez hits harder and has an underrated defence with decent handspeed. Floyd was tapped on the chin by a faded Mosley and almost out on his feet, Chavez would hit him repeatedly and do similar damage.

Floyd has better lateral movement but Chavez cuts the ring off better than anyone since a young Duran, he also throws more. Chavez by late stoppage or UD.

Incredible fight, I think if Castillo could beat him at that weight, then I think Chavez Sr. would as well. Castillo was like the poor man's Chavez and he was a great fighter.

This is a toss-up. Floyd struggled with Chavez's sparring partner (Castillo) who was a poor man's version of him. Then again, he handled him pretty easily in the rematch. And Chavez struggled with Randall who was a poor man's version of Floyd at 140. Sigh. I need to think about it some more.

Very interesting matchup. I'm not sure who to pick, I think this is a 50/50 fight.

I pick JCC Sr with a slight edge at 135. At 140 and 147 Floyd would beat him.

My good friend Meldrick Taylor put on a clinic but got wore down and caught at the end.
Chavez clearly couldnt handle Meldrick's speed and movement.
Meldrick had the fight won via hard fought UD until the last two seconds.
Floyd is better than Meldrick and wont make the same mistakes he did.
                    Floyd definitely wins this one.
