top tiered fighters had to fight margo after he beat cotto. after that dub he turned from high risk low reward to high risk high reward. but after that first fight with cotto, margarito was never the same, then shane polished him off.

but again, who didn't he fight?

Well he had pwills scalp and he picked up more wins in the way. He's wanted to fought Cotto for some time and cotto did not want to take the fight. Not that I blame him but its still true.

with sergio, he is mind fooking him right now. we're witnessing another facet to cotto's game.

be thankful. i'm not singing praises that aren't warranted but from my generation cotto will always be a top 10 cat. he was always **** and balls. didn't always get the dub, but always fought the fight. can't knock that - and that is all this thread is about.

Dude, the only 2 top wws of that era that didn't fight margarito were Floyd and Judah. Everyone else did. Moswly fought him after cotto bu u can't honestly think mosely was scared of margarito. Moseley, clottey, and p will. All of them fought him and all looked pretty good doing it. I really wonder when ppl started watching boxing sometimes...

i get it. but you're downplaying the significance of putting your balls and reputation on the line, first; cotto, not anyone else, did that.

and fyi, i'm very confident in my boxing acumen.

He was fighting the top welter weights while floyd was in retirement.

nah son, NO ONE was more feared than the tj tornado. although, yeah, pwill would have been a nightmare for average welters.

Can some of you guys be realistic with Cotto? He's not a great fighter. He's a 2nd teir guy in this era, who had the balls to take on some tough fights.... the thing is though he didn't win them. I give him credit for taking tough fights, but he has the option being a draw win or lose. Cotto will never be considered a great fighter, just pretty good in an era with some phenomenal boxers.
