Of course he is or showtime would not make a 200million dollar deal with him. Popular Mexican opponents may help but it's mainly Mayweather. Any other fighter could fight those same Mexicans and not bring in anything close to the money Mayweather brings in with them.
Is Mayweather Really a PPV Draw?

I know people who throw watch parties for Floyd fights...and they all f**king hate the **** out of him. They buy his fights hoping to see him lose. They all complain that his fights are boring as f**k (which they are) yet they get the fights anyways.
You'll get delusional ass motherf**kers on this site who say that the majority buy his fights to watch his greatness but that's a bunch of bull****. Most people hate the **** out of him and hate him so bad they'll drop 70 bucks just hoping to see him get KTFO. If he had Andre Ward's persona nobody would give a damn about him. His fan base would be Andre's. He's a villain and that's why he sells.
OK...idiot.
Based on what you wrote above, love him or hate him, he's still a PPV draw.
Who said you have to like someone to be a PPV draw.
P.S. put me in the category who watches Money PPV because I like boxing.Comment

Take away Floyd's trash talk, wife beating, ducking and all that personal dirt, he'll still be hated, especially by casuals. Why, because he's not as exciting as Leonard, Tyson, Duran, etc.
So no. He's not a real PPV draw. Fans pay hoping that he'll get KTFO. Aside from supporting him with strong undercards, fans need to have the perception that his opponent truly has at least a 50-60 chance of beating him. Otherwise, it will flop.
That makes no sense. Who cares why they are buying the PPV? if they are buying it, then you are a draw.
Money has been doing 1 million plus PPV since 2007 (with the Hitman and Ghost PPV being the only two exceptions).
Whether you pay to watch him lose or pay to watch him win....you are paying. Nobody pays $70 just for an undercard...it's because of the main event.Comment

That's Oscar de la Hoya mate, how old are you? 12?
Floyd's a draw, no doubt but he only draws BIG when fighting other legit names, Mosley, Cotto, Hatton and Canelo. Compare that to his buys when fighting guys like Guerrero and theres in some cases, a 400k difference.Comment

Ask youself:It seems to me he always just attaches himself to a popular MEXICAN on a MEXICAN holiday
Arum himself said blacks, asians and whites don't by PPV, it's all about the MEXICAN's
I really doubt there are Mexican families sitting around saying "I can't wait to watch that negro again!"
They're obviously buying to watch their brothers
1. How many PPV's did Canelo Alvarez sell prior to his fight with Floyd?
2. How many PPV's did Robert Guerrero sell prior to his fight with Floyd?
3. How many PPV's did JMM sell prior to his fight with Floyd?
4. What was De La Hoya's highest selling PPV prior to his fight with Floyd?
5. Is Miguel Cotto Mexican?
6. Is Shane Mosley Mexican?
7. Are Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana (his most likely next opponents) Mexican?
Answers:
1. None
2. None
3. 400,000 in one PPV fight against Pacquaio
4. 1.4 million vs Felix Trinidad compared to 2.4 million against Mayweather
5. No
6. No
7. No
My point: Mexicans opponents don't have a damn thing to do with the success of Mayweather's PPV events. His events are successful because of him and not his opponents.Comment
