The real question is why is AB trying to fight at 147? There are a ton of fights available at 130/135/140 in a division he would dominate, and with his star potential (read: hatred that everybody has for him)... he would make some good dough.

Broner didn't want to fight Floyd or Garcia, Maidana can fight both, more possible matchups at 147 and Broner can still do ok. He is young doe.

I disagree. they were building to a floyd/broner fight. I think the "plot" was going to be lil bro Broner having naked pics of one of big bro floyd's hoes-like a hogan/savage/ms elizabeth thing.

More like it might make Broner realize without his clear weight advantage at 147 he doesn't stand much of a chance against fighters who can pressurize him.

Maybe you are right but Broner probably wouldn't have fought floyd until 2015 in that case so in the short run a Maidana win gets more options for Floyd.
