After the match, Broner was advised by several boxing notables to drop down a division to junior welterweight. He moved up from lightweight to welterweight last June and struggled to win a twelve round split decision over Paulie Malignaggi. Broner does not appear to have a backwards step in mind. He seems to be focused on claiming another title at welterweight.

    • Broner will be back and he may make some good fights at WW. But I don't see him being champion unless he gets an immediate rematch with Maidana and figures out how to beat him. Cause he surely ain't beating any of the other champions at WW.

      • I'd like to see him against Diego Chaves.

Thats actually not a bad idea.

Chaves is fringe enough to matter.

            Both coming off losses.

Broner gets his shot at Marcos' countryman.

Chaves gets a shot to prove he is an elite WW.

            Make it happen

Also he might need a new team..I usually don't come at trainers, but when I read that interview with Broner trainer..He was too defensive and saying ****** things, like Broner don't need to change nothing..The only reason he loss was cause Maidana was dirty..****** things that were not true..Broner might need to look into that as well..One thing is for sure tho,if Broner does not work on his footwork..He will not last long in this sport at WW..
Other than the mental part, one thing is sure: he will need a good dance teacher because his footwork is less than ****y.

A lot of people talk about the beating Maidana put on him, but Maidana didn't take him out and was getting tagged with some lead.

I challenge the average poster around here to actually watch the fight, notice that the fight wasn't as much of a one sided beating as hyped up it seems to have been

look at this idiot...so you're saying broner wasn't confident he could beat maidana coming into the fight that's why he lost? gtfo you troll alt
