  • Some people say the only way Cotto can win is if Martinez is not healthy. I don't think that's a fair assessment. Cotto doesn't move like he used to either and his face gets busted up easily. Also Cotto has never been KO'd. Tko stoppage yes but not clean KO's. look how much punishment he took from Margarito before he took a knee and most people feel Margarito cheated in that fight. PAC busted him up but Cotto never really looked hurt, said after the fight that he wasn't hurt but he got hit with a lot of punches he couldn't see, and Sergio doesn't fight as quick or on angles like PAC. I don't see Sergio knocking Cotto out clean. I believe both fighters have the capability of stopping the other. Also maybe some of you have seen different, but I don't remember ever seeing Cotto as far gone from a shot as Sergio was with Chavez in that last round. Sergio also got hurt pretty bad in the middle rounds with Pavlick, although Sergio dominated a large portion of that fight.

Historically the most money has been made in 2 divisions, heavyweight and welterweight. No dispute that PAC was the biggest star in the lighter weight classes, I certainly watched all of his fights. But he wasn't publicized nearly as much as Cotto was at the time. But the circumstances of the negotiation, in my opinion, though we will never have every exact detail, arum screwed Cotto in negotiations, just like he tried during the second negotiations.
      pac/morales III did 350K buys. cotto/judah did 250K. pac/marquez II and cotto/mosley both did 400K buys.

by 2009, pac just did over a million buys with oscar and about 700K with hatton. cotto was never a part of any fight that big.

how you can continue to argue this is beyond me.

Also like I said he never discredited the fight or PAC for the catch weight. I never said he was happy with the catch weight in the first fight read the original comment to the post in context and you will see my answer.
where do you come up with this stuff?

in no way, shape or form was cotto ever getting a bigger share of anything than pacquiao.

Not arguing with you it's a difference of opinion, Cotto - Mayweather made 1.5 mill ppv, PAC has not gone 1.5 does that mean Cotto is the bigger star now?

now you're giving cotto the credit for doing 1.5 million in the mayweather fight?

No I'm not but your giving PAC credit for De la Hoya and Ricky Hatton, when Hatton had an incredibly huge European fan base. I'm using your logic against you because I believe PAC and Cotto were equally popular at the time of their fight. I believe Cotto got burned on negotiations. But based on your comment we should now consider Cotto the more popular fighter because he did 1.5 with Mayweather, and his next fight with Martinez will undoubtedly do more then PAC-Rios.

of course oscar gets the credit. but that is the fight that launched pacquiao. just like it launched mayweather. the success of pacquiao/hatton was the result of that. pac was the A in that fight.

                    • Just ****** Comments By A 39/40 Yr Old Sergio; He Isn't KOing Anyone In 5

Sergio just trying to psych himself up. A joke. He may get knocked out by Cotto in 5, but he's not knocking Cotto out at all. In fact, Sergio doesn't win the fight. Then what will he say of Cotto; "oh he's a great champion, he fought a great fight"... Every cliche in the book.
