Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: Cotto May Not Even Last Five Rounds!

WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) will be looking for blood if a fight is finalized with Puerto Rican superstar Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) for June 7th at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The negotiations continue, with Martinez angered because he claims Cotto is making a high volume of demands. He says Cotto should remember that he is the challenger and not the champion in the equation.

What the hell is Cotto asking for that Martinez is taking so personally?

Agree, this is a bad matchup for Cotto, if the straight left doesn't catch him, the jab is going to slice Cotto up bad.

i wonder what demands he's talking about, for sure a catchweight but Sergio hasn't fought at 154 since like 5 years ago,he's used to fighting at middleweight so he'll probably be drained if he goes down, maybe a clause saying he cant go up certain amount of pounds, who knows,i feel if you need to put a champ at a disadvantage then you're not beating him at his best and I don't even look at it as a legit win

Martinez just building up the fight by creating a fake conflict.

                Money for sure

cotto's must be asking for the lions share of the pot/ and also a higher PPV %

he already said it must be at Madison square garden

he could also be asking to enter the ring second and also that he be introduced last!!

cotto is "allegedly" asking for the champions treatment!!!

cuz there are only a few things you can ask for. #1 being the money!!
