It wouldn't surprise me if Cotto wants another catch weight and cheat history.
Oh and Martinez may of said this and that but morons have to realize, he didn't have surgery at that time. You want a man coming off surgery TO WORK HARDER in making weight and risking another injury.

First off Cotto and Roach both said no catch weight, so lets wait till the fight is signed and the details are put out before the sh it talking starts. Also who cares if Cotto requests a catch weight, he never complained or talked sh it about PAC, being considered and 8 division champ with 2 of those wins coming at catch weights, and 1 being from a vacant alphabet belt, 4 lbs under the minimum weight, closer to the maximum weight for welter weight then the minimum for light middle weight. And the catch weight being floated was 158lbs, which is a weight that Sergio weighed in at multiple times. 2lbs under the 160 limit. It is more then likely a request for a rehydration clause.

Cotto didn't get less money that fight was a 50-50 split, I already explained the Catch weight in an earlier post but ill explain it again. Arum wanted the fight to happen badly, so the WBC made pac Cottos mandatory, so if Cotto didn't fight PAC he would be stripped of the belt. And the WBC would have PAC fight some one else for the vacant title. PAC would not fight Cotto over 145 lbs, so Cotto had no choice but to fight or vacate the belt. Just because he agreed to a catch weight doesn't mean he was the B-side, remember Mayweather agreed to a catch weight against Marquez. I guess it would be more accurate to say at the time of their fight they were both considered A-side fighters (Cotto-PAC)

I wonder why Sergio said Cotto does not respect boxing history. I am starting to feel that Sergio might not give to Cottos demands and the fight will not pan out. Cotto needs to stop being a diva if that is truly the case.

I am a Cotto fight. I have been to his Pacquiao, Foreman, Margarito and Rodriguez fights. But the Trout fight was not even close. He did give Mayweather a tough fight.

You do realize Martinez has a 10 Inch advantage in reach *not to mention the jab is one of Martinez best attributes, and has being fighting taller and stronger fighters for the past 4 years, he backed up a 180 185 pounder in Chaves. Not only the reach benefits martinez but the style of cotto is made for martinez.. Only way cotto wins is if age has gotten to martinez.

You bring up some thoughtful points as far as "Sergio being overwhelmed at this point" have u taken into account his age, he hasn't made much money yet considering what he's done,This is his biggest and could be his last big payday ,and he is champion . This whole fight is about cotto going for another title in another division. That's a big draw of it .

I think Cotto has the tools to win, he is definitely a more well rounded fighter of the two. Cotto has been in the ring with faster opponents and is 2-2 agains them. Mayweather, PAC,Mosley, Judah. He's also been in the ring with bigger guys, margarita, Trout. But Sergio has the tools to win as well. I think it comes down to game plan and who has more stamina in the championship rounds. Sergio has been very vulnerable in the second half of fights, Cotto comes on strong from the 3rd to about the 10th. This fight could be decided in the last 3 rounds. Another thing to note is Roach has Cotto sparring 15 rounds, which Cotto has never done, so well see if his stamina is improved.

Wow I didn't even think of ring entrances . That makes a lot of sense , they both want to come out last... Sergio being champ and cotto being at the garden. Seems like cotto sould have to pay extra for that but maybe Sergio don't want to take a little pay off.
