Since Cotto won his first belt there has been no fight other then Mayweather, that Cotto wasn't the A side. He is arguably the 3rd largest draw in boxing, made $3 mil for his last fight and was the highest rated network boxing event of the year, against a nobody. Sergio's first time on ppv was against Chavez, in which many consider him a much more popular fighter then Sergio. These type of negotiations have been going on for years, we don't hear about 'em because if you want to fight the big names, you gotta deal with the big names. The fact that Sergio is acting like a lil b!tch, proves that he has never been in this type of event, nor the level of opponent. This fight might be to big for Sergio, this is an advantage for Cotto. If Sergio is overwhelmed by the stage, we could very well see Cotto with a big win. When have you ever heard of anyone having issues negotiating with Cotto?
how was cotto the A vs. pacquiao when he got less money and had to agree to a catchweight?

@ the nationalistic Cotto nuthuggers. I always knew they were bad but damn this is Flomo type of love right here.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cotto wants another catch weight and cheat history.
Oh and Martinez may of said this and that but morons have to realize, he didn't have surgery at that time. You want a man coming off surgery TO WORK HARDER in making weight and risking another injury.

If Martinez doesn't like the terms he could always fight GGG- a man in his own division.

I actually agree with Martinez. I don't think Cotto sees the final bell. Cotto couldn't beat the best at 154, can't see him beating the best at 160. And Khan is one of the best fighters in the first 5 rounds (140/147 lb version of Jermain Taylor) so I think khan lasts 5 rounds, just not many more after that.

If any fighter seriously applied a jab they would have a Good jab, by definition Sergio does not have a good jab. He has a lazy pitty pat jab very similar to pac's jab. Cotto has one of the best jabs in boxing. Because Cotto is a lefty who's fighting orthodox, his lead hand is his power hand, there are not many boxers who can knock down a fighter with a jab and Cotto can. Also his timing with his jab is superior to probably every active boxer right now, Mayweather admitted Cottos jab was hard to time, and Mayweather as arguably the best defensive fighter in history, maybe aside from Willie Pep. This is Cotto's biggest advantage. If he establishes his jab, which he didn't do against PAC, or Trout, then Sergio could have a rough night. However, Roach is not known for pushing his fighters to jab more, that's why Emmanuel Stewart was a really good fit for Cotto. But Roach is a Master at fight planning, and after being in Chavez's corner, I'm interested in seeing Roach's Game plan.

exactly cotto isnt bothered by jabs sergio always fights with his hands down has bad stamina and has injuries during fights so cotto will bus up that nose with the jab and hurt the body sergio is the b side even if hes the champion he will never make the type of money a cotto fight will give him and there is no catchweight to this fight cotto doesnt use catchweights he said 160 is fine sergio is just hyping up the fight and no way he knocks cotto out no 1 has and sergio isnt a knock out artist and hasnt fought top level guys like cotto before

Cotto didn't get less money that fight was a 50-50 split, I already explained the Catch weight in an earlier post but ill explain it again. Arum wanted the fight to happen badly, so the WBC made pac Cottos mandatory, so if Cotto didn't fight PAC he would be stripped of the belt. And the WBC would have PAC fight some one else for the vacant title. PAC would not fight Cotto over 145 lbs, so Cotto had no choice but to fight or vacate the belt. Just because he agreed to a catch weight doesn't mean he was the B-side, remember Mayweather agreed to a catch weight against Marquez. I guess it would be more accurate to say at the time of their fight they were both considered A-side fighters (Cotto-PAC)
