    hell no
Martinez is past it, but Cotto is shot
and Cotto is already too small for JMW, MW is crazy
Cotto is getting this fight since Martinez wants money
he's gonna take a beating for it unless Martinez retires on an injury

No one thinks Cotto is gonna have to get physical, all he has to is attack in spots and keep it moving. Martinez's offense gets very predictable when he's made to come forward, Cotto should win at this stage. Only thing I'm really worried about is whether Cotto's conditioning will allow him to utilize this game plan for 12 rounds, if he tires Martinez may end up stopping him.
First person I've seen being up cottos gas tank. I don't think cotto will have the stamina to make it competitive for twelve rounds Martinez has great second half stamina and cotto doesn't add on the fact that Martinez hits harder and cotto will be carrying more weight and cuts and bleeds easy with shorter reach so if Martinez has any legs left it's gonna make it twice as hard for cotto get where he needs to be I see this being stopped In rounds 8-10

Martinez didn't look like he had great second half stamina against Murray.

Cotto's vastly underrated boxing skills are going to give Sergio problems. Roach isn't going to have Cotto coming at Martinez like he did Rodriguez, same way he changed Manny's approach against Rios. Martinez isn't a fighter who will impose his size on his opponent, his reach is what will trouble Cotto the most.

I'm the only one who thinks he's going to win? I'd say opinion in this thread is close to 50/50.

Depends completely on what kind of movement Martinez still has left.

All things considered Martinez should flatten Cotto.

I mean for one thing Cotto is going to be way too small, Martinez is a natural middleweight, Cotto is small at jr middle.

And this isn't a scenario where Cotto is going to be smaller and more agile. Martinez is faster, has better balance and movement, hit's harder, has better punch resistance.

In my mind, this fight is a mismatch and I don't know why Cotto is taking it.

Sure Martinez is a bit older now, but that's not going to be nearly enough for Cotto to win. He will be outboxed bad for 3-4 rounds and I see Martinez taking him out somewhere around the 5th or 6th
I've always liked both guys and personally I don't like the match for Cotto. I agree with your reasons and feel like Martinez is just too big for him and does too much.

Yup. People fall in love with Lampley talking about Martinez's cycling experience and why he's so conditioned.

The dude gasses just as bad as Cotto, always has.

                    I do.

People talk about size and weight difference but Cotto fought Trout who isn't that much smaller than Martinez IMO.

Cotto had success vs Trout till his stamina let him down. I understand Trout and Martinez are two different styles but I also think Martinez is done.

So yea, I think it will be competitive unless Cotto's stamina lets him down again.

Exactly, Sergio fading in the middle rounds is pretty expected.
