If he loses the gamble doesn't pay off.

I personally think they are pushing this kid too fast too soon, but it is admirable the risks he is taking when so many other boxers take the safe slow and easy route to a belt.
I get what you're saying and I respect your opinions, but in mine I just think it sends out the wrong message and highlights one of the many things that the sport could do better.

Even coming off of a loss Salido is more deserving than Lomachenko.

How about Billy Dib, was he more deserving? He lost the first fight, and hadn't done anything except nearly lose to Mike Oliver. Is that what makes a contender deserving, going life and death with Mike Oliver?
And beating Ramirez makes you deserving? The guy wasn't even on position for a title shot.

I dunno why this bothers you so much. Just kidding, I know exactly why, cause it takes some shine off Rigo. Me not being a Rigo nutrider, I don't care. It's a super interesting fight, much more so than Salido fighting a bum on UniMas, and Loma fighting a 6 rounder off TV. Top prospects rarely take massive risks like this, even Rigo's title shots (Cordoba and Ramos) were much less risky.

It is a spit on everyone's face who fights and fights to reach certain ranking to fight for a belt.

He's totally right. Lomanchenko isn't forced to earn his right for a shot. They are just dropping it in his lap. Disrespect to all the other fighters who are earning it with hard work.

I think Billy Dib had a rematch clause.

Normally this situation would never have occurred. Plenty of Olympians and gold medalists in the past have started their pro careers at the bottom and quickly make their way up showcasing their boxing skills and making a name for themselves. If Loma was under any other promoter this is probably how it would have gone down. But this is Bob Arum aka 'Have I been guilty of ranking and title buying?' He wants Loma to be the next gimmick; Loma gets to be the next gimmick. What Bob wants is what Bob gets because apparently he's got more power then the sanctioning bodies. Do you think Ramirez would have fought Loma if Bob didn't push for it? Do you think that Salido's voluntary defense really is voluntary? Loma is getting the Bob Arum push and that's why he's leapfrogging everyone.

You mean the deserving Billy Dib, the gay dude, Mauricio Munoz, Kenichi Yamaguchi, and all the other no hopers these guys fight off tv? At least this Cruz benefited from this injustice, as he got to be on TV as buildup.

Gotcha. So rematch clauses are also killing boxing. But at least this injustice brings a very interesting fight, and not a mismatch on paper.

It's not Bob's plan, it's Loma's. He wouldn't have signed with Bob otherwise. He was looking for a title fight in his debut, but nobody could get him that. This is old news.

Also, this Arum Satan story is totally incoherent. Is he all about protecting his guys or throwing them to the sharks? Whatever works, right?

Lomanchenko has spent more time in the ring than probably any boxer his age. Probably more than Salido.

He has earned his right on talent, if that faith in him was misplaced, Salido deals with him.

As boxing fans we should want to see good fights, where both fighters are tested, maybe some clash of contrasting styles.

How can real fans be disappointed in this bout.

My only reservations about this fight is that maybe it is too soon for Loma and he could throw away a great career by doing so.

Have to respect his bravery by stepping up so soon.

I agree with him .... I also don't think it's right when fighters move up in weight and get a title shot in one or two fights. I give rigondeux. a pass for getting a title shot so quick because of his age when he got here , but it's clear he's at championship level...
