It won't be respectful when he dominates and stops Salido.

That's ESB btw (bo#ing news 24)Arum doesn't believe there will be any trouble in making a fight with Russell.
"If those are the rules, then those are the rules. If the winner of Salido-Lomachenko has to fight Russell, then they'll fight Russell. That's no big deal," said Arum. "If we can't reach an agreement, then we'll go to purse bid. That's what it's designed for. Golden Boy and ourselves have done a number of fights that way, after either we or they won on purse bid."
Schaefer said the same.
"If it can't get done, then it will have to go to purse bid," said Schaefer. "I think that's fantastic and I think that Gary is definitely up to the challenge."

Well... To be fair, that cab driver he beat was indeed ranked by the WBO. You can blame them for that. And on top of that he's not some 18 year old off the street, he has over 400 amateur fights and is one of the most successful/well known amateurs ever.
IF he beats Salido.... Wouldn't he be worthy of holding that title? If he were to win, what would have been the point of him facing 20 cab drivers if we know he's already ready for the best? Especially since the way he got the title was legit in the first place and he wasn't illegally gifted anything, matchmaking wise and then title-fight was (I.e Salido is a legit and tough MF'ing champion)

I agree. I know that when Lomo signed with TR the agreement was that he would get a title shot by his 2nd fight which is total BS. So it makes you want to question who controls the sanctioning bodies? It seems like the WBO is controlled by TR so you might as well call it the Top Rank Championship. The WBC can be call the Mexican Championship because it seems every time they strip a champion of the title, the fight to determine the new champion is always between some guy vs a fighter from Mexico. The WBA is just a joke with its 15 different versions of a champ at any particular weight division. That leaves the IBF who is trying to put some credibility back to its name behind fixing the rankings.

Iv'e never been ok or happy with the news that he was getting a title shot already. It seems like a big $$$ move like they are trying to make this unproven kid their cash cow. I feel they need to groom him the right way as he IS talented. However he needs to develop his skills in the pro ranks, and i dont believe getting him a belt NOW and having him fighting the top names around so early will get him the right experience. More like too much too soon for him.

Did Salido 'deserve' a fight for a vacant title? He was coming off a loss to Garcia, who basically wiped the canvas at Madison Square Garden Theater with Salido' аss.

Lomachenko doesn't have the power to stop salido but he does have speed and that pretty much stumps salido. Problem comes if Lomachenko starts getting tagged down the stretch he could end up getting his career disrespected in 2 fights.
