For HBO it is a business and they are not going to lose money just to be loyal. Rigo has the goods but his style does not sell. Rigo has no charisma, his fights are slow paced and he doesn't have a decent following.
Take the same route Floyd took. Just keep winning even though he wasnt overly exciting.

If Money and Son of God would receive these complaint, they woul change their style according because a boxer sole job in the ring is to entertain the fans who are paying for you...Or else why are they boxing? take away the dirty tactics from Money and Son of God...they are far more entertaining in the ring than El Chacal who is a great fighter but is boring and worst....doesn't care and want to blame HBO for his inability to garner crowd support.

      He needs to be punished
Not true. Fans have been complaining about Mayweather "running" since I can remember. He does the same thing. He always talk that he will KO his opponent but it does not happen.

Money took a slight different route...it going to take more than winning for El Chacal to get over especially when no US outlet will distribute his fights.

Money for one can speak English and marketed himself, not just rely on his boxing ability.

Running....that your opinion. For someone that runs (which is your opinion, I don't share your believes) he sure does a lot of PPV buys, for someone who runs...he still the HIGHEST PAID ATHLETE on the Planet EARTH.

Money moves when he needs too (when he fought the Ghost) and stand in the pocket when he needs to (when he fought Canelo).

Rigo should have went the route Donaire went to. Less counter punching and more aggression even though it's not his style.

Virgil Hill kept himself in one area and continued to win. He wasn't a superstar but made decent money with some meaningful matches.

Hill did not have the most exciting style

HBO isn't there to be friends, and anyone who thinks that was a fool to begin with.
Its a business. Their business is subscribers. They will gain nothing by alienating his fan base. They said he would never fight on the network after the Donaire fight, they are saying it again.

They are full of ****, no network in their right mind would take the best athlete on the planet off their airwaves because viewers clearly changed over to the more compelling fight offerings on sho.

Toprank is already running dry on stars, and like it or not, Rigo is one of their marquee names, and he will continue to fight on HBO.

Rigo is a guy that is willing to fight the best all the time, scared of nobody, and putting on masterclass performances. They have been airing his entire career, they are not about to stop now.

well he's right...Rigo is an unbelievable talent but there are even some hardcore fans that dont want to watch his entire fights...what more the casual fans?

                    Get with it.
                    Andre Berto.

HBO displayed stupid loyalty to him, paid him astronomical sums of money to fight bums in fights that did terrible ratings, for years...

That said, Herschman had a policy in his sho years of buying fights, not fighters. It resulted in shotime having good fights, but as we have already seen by the way that sho exploded and has become the new boxing powerhouse, fighters are more important to marketability than fights, and the more compelling fighters you have on staff, the better your network will do.
