people need perspective. broner has immense talent/potential, but frankly, he was still a prospect in my eyes. they stepped him up too quick. the same way with canelo... both got schooled and got reminded of their proper place.

imo, the same "style" weakness is apparent in floyd... floyd is just too good to let people exploit that weakness. floyd perfected a boxing "system", made to crack and break down styles that he KNOWS.... throw in an aggressive unpredictable fighter ON HIS LEVEL and you got real danger.

What boxers has Maidana fought to make you believe this??Lopez Broner Karass all have one thing in common..None of them show much movement..Mayweather does,and it will change the fighter Maidana is quickly..When Maidana is force to move,he becomes sloppy and his punches become easy to see coming..

Meaning he was overly complacent. Here versus Broner he was rough and tough in the clinch, and prepared to throw nearly 1000 punches. Devon couldn't do the same to a circa late 2013 Maidana what he did before and that is just evident fact. In a rematch, Maidana takes a page out of Porter's gameplan and roughs the **** out of Devon in the clinch.

Similarly, against Khan Maidana was crowding his shots and mitigating his own power. In a rematch he leverages his shots better on a shopworn Khan and finishes him.

I agree that Maidana has struggled with movers in the past, but his renaissance of late with the jab helps with that deficiency.

Finally, as I've said in another thread, I favor Mayweather in a fight between them, BUT current or an even further improved Maidana accounts for himself better than ghost, mosley, canelo, and ortiz did against Money.

Canelo boxed a terrible fight, there's no denying that. Whether it was the weight loss or what, I don't know.

His game plan was actually one of the worst I've ever seen used against Mayweather especially for a guy with his physical attributes.

I don't know man,until I see Maidana in against a mover I can't be sure what Maidana is right now..Has Maidana gotten better,I will agree and say yes,yes he has..He has better stamina and seems to use his Jab a hell of a lot more then in the pass..Movers tho,will take Maidana out of position and make him reset very often,and that will play on Maidana Patience and resolve..
