The problem w/ certain sports "fanatics" is that they place their love/like for a certain athlete or team ahead of sound reasoning and actuality. Anybody who thinks Floyd has "ducked" pac is delusional..No more so than manny has "ducked" Floyd . Both sides/camps have done their fair share to negate negotiations so there's no need to blame one w/out the other. I've said this before and I will reiterate...What slick..counter punching boxer (on top of his game) has manny beaten??? He has NEVER been able to clearly best marquez and although the Bradley decision has been highly contested, it was at least close enough for the judges to 'get it right' or 'get it wrong' as some lament. Love or hate mayweather jr..He IS the best pure boxer...I repeat PURE boxer the sport has seen in the past 2 decades and based on the difficulties pac has w/ foot / hand speed, excellent counter punchers..How can anyone possibly fig he'd be a lock to defeat mayweather who has better defense...better timing & hand speed and is a better counter puncher than Bradley or marquez....Has nothing to do w/ liking the man..Its merely fact.
And for all that ducking and hand picking talk...Any fighter in the top 5 p4p who is also a ppv draw picks who he wants to fight. It is what it is..there's a reason why pac & his camp opted to fight rios after negotiations w/ marquez & Bradley fell thru b/c they wanted to fight ea other. You honestly think his promoter and his camp didn't think he'd look good against a one dimensional fighter like rios...Come on now. There's also a reason why he wouldn't fight cotto at the 154 lb jr ww limit instead offering to fight at 150. Don't scream on just money for handpicking fights. Plenty others top ranked fighters w/ ppv appeal do the same ish.

I knew maidana would win the fight but im suprised it went the distance.
But come on guys, this fight has nothing to do with Mayweather vs. Pacquiao! Different fighters, different levels!Last edited by Tobi.G; 12-15-2013, 02:45 AM.

In a nutshell, to be successful against bigger and stronger guys, you have to be great at something. Floyd is great defensively. So he's capable of making the bigger guys miss consistantly. Pacquiao was able to carry his speed and power with him up the scales. Which makes him a complete nightmare for bigger fighters. AB is very good. He's good but not great defensively. He's fast, but doesn't have elite speed. He can punch, but doesn't have special power. So at the end of the day, AB isn't gonna make a living fighting bigger guys. He needs to take his ass back to 35. He needs to cut all the celebrity **** short. And he needs to start building a real resume instead of trying to manufacture events with cute storylines.

Personally I wouldn't mind to see Floyd fight Maidana. I think he'll do a lot better then Canelo, Robert, and way better then Khan.
Why not make a Mayweather-Maidana if the Pacquiao fight is not going to happen? I think Maidana posses a big enough threat. I mean honestly it would be interesting. I say Maidana fans as well in that fight as Cotto did with Mayweather if not better.
Thurman-Maidana is a great fight, but I don't feel like Keith Thurman deserves it quite yet. Maidana's fought everyone.
