I dont think a better strategy could have been created. Even if it wasn't on purpose.

Rigo is the main event. And right before he fights an action packed fight happens. Making people stay for more.

Could Tapia being the hometown kid and losing be the reason why so many people left?

if there's any consolation to hbo, they probably spent half of what showtime spent for purses and expenses but with basically the same viewers.

overall, boxing suffered a major blow on that night.

The 550k viewers drawn by Rigo-Agbeko is among the lowest viewerships in HBO's Boxing After Dark history. #boxing

Let's see if it goes down or to 1.1 million next time
Rigo is top 3 P4P. Doesnt have the resume yet but no one barring Ward and Mayweather have similar skill sets. Dude just dominates his opponents.

The problem is, after those co main event, people are turning off their TV and people starting to go home so why do they need to put rigo on Main event unless he is fighting a main event guy caliber? Fact is Rigo is a great boxer but his styles is not friendly for casual fans.

And some of his fans want him to stay at 122 and fight nobodies... smh. This guy would spend the rest of his career in obscuritiy making peanuts if he did that.

                  -Paulie got rid of Zab

                  That's actually good for boxing
