Poor Rigo. One thing not filling the seats, but when HBO's ratings bomb that's a whole other problem.

FW wide open right now with the fall of John and Mares.
Simpe looking for the big fights over John, then there's Salido and Lomachenko, although I doubt Arum lets him fight Loma.

The fights Bob does have, I doubt he makes though because he doesn't want Donaire or Lomachenko losing.

Bob can actually make a lot of the top 126 fights for Rigo, just probably won't.
Also, Rigo's small... don't blame him if he doesn't want to move up...but unless he goes to GBP, that's where the money is going

Basically what this tells you is that out of all the people who watched Kirkland-Tapia at least 75% of them fell asleep on their couch while Rigo-Agbeko fought and it registered on the Neilsen Ratings.

It sucks for him that he has all this stuff that works against (small, not much of a fan base, doesn't speak English, not the most enthralling style to average people) him but not everyone can be a rockstar he is going to have to adjust his expectations or something.
He's finding that the road to Expectations is paved with disappointment.

Also, Fat Dan failed to mention that it was competing against a Showtime even that was taking place at the exact same time. Neither show did good ratings, but Fat Dan hates Rigo, so he makes it sound like its all Rigo's fault. Sounds just like Bob Arum. Not surprising at all!

Rigo is boring as ***. No way to spin it. I fell asleep midway through that fight. Actually that whole night ****** other than Kirkland/Tapia. Regardless, Rigo isn't a main event attraction for HBO.

rigondeaux is going to have to do what some of the other greats with no fanbase have had to do. he's got to take insane risks.

that's what will make his fights exciting. he's got to take risks in the ring, and arum will ahve to match him with risky opponents. the risky opponents do not weigh 122 lbs.

got a boring style? put him in there with a bigger man who will walk to him, and he'll be extremely exciting.

want to put a pure boxer like rigondeaux in a fight of the year candidate? put him in there with a 126 or 130 lber [126 would surely just get pounded and outboxed, so let's make it a 130 lber,] who can come forward.

styles make fights. there are two styles in each fight. part of the reason why rigondeaux has been in boring fights has been an ability, or unwillingness, on the part of his opponents to come forward.

if rigondeaux isn't willing to move up in weight he will never make any headway. it's not fair, but this guy needs to fight at 130 lbs against lomachenko.

don't be surpirsed to see lomachenko and rigondeaux in 2015. lomachenko will stop him. he's just too big.

That's the fact of the matter and unfortunately it's unfair. Hell, he'd probably make decent money going up to FW.
Donaire's there, Grandovich is there (could do a Macau fight), Lomachenko's there.
It sucks and he's small, but I don't see him getting the money he wants down there anymore
