How much money could they had possibly spent to promote this event?

"It seems like Rigondeaux feels he's in the driver's seat and can dictate the terms of super fights. As far as he's concerned his bout with Agbeko was a complete success. Yet only a few hundred people remained in attendance to see that "fight" through. "

It was truly bad. I was watching in HD and even though the lights were dimmed around the ring, it was clear there were very few people in attendance for the fight. I would say around 70% of people left. The contrast between the Kirkland/Tapia fight and the main event is like day and night.

If Rio doesn't at least try to put away a guy who could not win a minute of a round, he may be doomed. Not sure if HBO brings him back since they did not want to put him on in the first place. Rigo should have blitzed the guy out in a few rounds to better his chances for big money.

Fight of the night was Kirkland-Tapia

Kirkland-Tapia did around 720,000 viewers and Rigo-Agbeko, 550,000 viewer. The main event really was the walkout bout #boxing

The 550k viewers drawn by Rigo-Agbeko is among the lowest viewerships in HBO's Boxing After Dark history. #boxing

Let's see if it goes down or to 1.1 million next time

550K people that will never watch boxing again...thank, Rigo

Since we're talking about boxing ratings, the FOX, CBS and ABC college football broadcasts alone had more than 25 million viewers.

and those that did watch rigo vs agbeko probably regretted it....but to be absolutely fair, agbeko pulled off a clottey x10...guy fought very scared...

put rigo in with the winner of kiko martinez vs mathebula...and we might see a more entertaining fight.
