He has above average defense, exceptional footwork and does control the distance well. Add to that, a high work-rate, excellent chin, one of the best jabs in the sport and very good handspeed. You don't know what you're looking at if you really believe what you're saying.

The guy has been fighting with basically one hand due to injuries and his lack of power has held him back big time.

Shocker: Hatton fan fluffs up the abilities of one of his ex foes to make that win seem more credible.

Do you even know exceptional footwork and controlling distance even is? Hint: wasn't on display in Malignaggi's fights with Ngoudjo, Hatton and Khan.

I'm a fan of Malignaggi, I got up at 3am just to watch him fight. The only other Hatton opponent I follow is Pacquiao.

It was actually, he was outboxing Hatton for the first two rounds, until he got clipped with a big shot but Hatton was very good at cutting opponents off. Khan beat him to the punch, just as he did to other good boxers in Kotelnik and Barrera there wasn't much he could do.

Ask Zab Judah how well Paulie controlled the distance, he'll tell you and if you watch the videos he'll tell you that he struggled with him because he stayed on the outside. Similarly Malignaggi was able to keep Broner at bay with good footwork late in their fight. Paulie's a mover, a very good one. With a little bit of power instead of being a B level boxer in his prime, he might well have been an A level fighter.

has paulie improved?? Amir khan was toying with him last time I watched one of his fights...his amazing jab looked very slow against AK.

He has earned my respect as a boxer but do I want to see him fight? No. He's a decent boxer in the true sense of the word but just being honest here, his style bores the **** out of me. And wtf was up with him and a 100% washed up Zab Judah as a Showtime feature fight? Wasn't Paulie trashing HBO recently for putting on garbage fights? Lmao, a Paulie/Judah fight f**king belongs on damn ESPN these days.

But again, yeah, I respect him. I used to think he was trash but the Broner performance (and Saturday night's as well) certainly earned my respect. And also I do like him as a solid opponent for some of these younger and bigger names out there today.

Paulie hit Judah much harder than Mayweather hit Canelo. At this point in their respective careers, Paulie has as much or more power than Mayweather has. Mayweather will never get another legit KO but he is idolized for doing essentially the same or even less than what Paulie did to Judah.

I think it is a matter of preconception or perception. There is racial bias both ways.

Malig just a tad boring is all... but it is somewhat interesting watching him succeed with his limitations. I really think he looks worlds better than he did when he fought Cano. Energized. A guy with slick defense and a great jab with nice output. He's a strategic problem for alot of fighters. He gets some dap from me. That's why I was disgusted with Broner's treatment of him after their fight.

just, no. Canelo would destroy Paulie Malignaggi.
