To think he would have been "up there" with Marquez is beyond a joke. Marquez has his flaws but his timing, the sheer quality and diversity of his offense, and the manner in which he executes his attack is on a whole different galaxy to Malignaggi. There's a very good reason why Marquez does the damage that he does with his punches (cue the PED references) and it isn't because he was simply blessed with power.

If pauli had power, he would be wrecking fools,, he would have iced broner, probably diaz and hatton both

serg isnt as skilled as jmm, yet he made it to the top by having some power,, same thing for pauli

Jmm isnt all that,, he has no defense, everyone always lands on jmm, and he also doesnt have fast feet,, he can take a shot and has brutal counters,, thats jmm's game

Jmm struggled with diaz in the first fight, and pauli schooled diaz twice,, so its not so crazy to think that pauli could become p4p if he had power,,, if marquez had pauli's power he would have been beaten up by diaz

No imagine if jmm had no power, how effective he would be,, do you think jmm has the same success that pauli has

with no power, and all the bad stuff you pointed out, pauli still is a 2 division titlist, and has wins over some good fighters, and has only lost to very good fighters in their prime,,

losing to prime cotto, hatton, khan is not shameful, and if he had power he probably ko's khan and hatton

If he had power, he would have made some p4p lists in his peak from 06-11

Not trying to say pauli would be some ATG, but right now it takes a very top level guy to beat him, and if pauli had better punching power, it would take him over the hump and he would have been on some p4p lists in his prime and probably would have had alot more bigger fights

nope, if he had power, he wouldnt be prancing around for 12 rounds thats for sure.

Paulie should stick to commentating and work on speaking. Fighters like him need to not be on television anymore. It's embarrassing.

The fact that Paulie has done what he's done with hardly any power is incredible. Him and his opponent know that he's outgunned, and he still pulls it off. He's smart, crafty, skilled and as tough as they come. Man if he had power, he'd be at the top.
Well said! With paulies inability to knock people out he's still accomplished so much and i respect that. Not to mention he's tough as nails. I'm glad he's still around and I look forward to watching him partake in another mega fight after this great win.

              I admire that.
ya i agree all these things are what impresses me about him. Hes beating these guys with little to no power in the right hand because of injuries and even before injuries he had no power and hes still beating world class fighters go figure no one gives him the respect he deserves

Malignaggi never beat a legitimate title holder in either division. Ndou was awarded the title after winning a title eliminator and Senchenko was the absolute definition of a paper champion.

Malignaggi is a skilled boxer for people blinded by speed. There are so many different facets to this sport besides speed and power, and there's a number of fights that have exposed Malignaggi's limitations besides his lack of power.

I agree fully. Paulies a good fighter, great commentator, and a generally cool guy. Who's going to hate on him...honestly?

I give Magic man his props he has to throw so much just to win the round, what sucks for him is if he gets hit 3 good times in the round he will probably lose that round. The no power is a big reason people don't like him and he talks so much !, even more than women do, I know he has to sell the fight and most of the time he's a funny guy. I'm glad he will get a couple of pay days before he retires, he gives it his all every fight.
