Already said this but events held abroad tend to lose coverage from sports media in the US. Also, holding a fight in a major city can get people talking about that fight in that city or state, which in turn creates more buzz. Media are also less likely to fork out the money to send their staff abroad to cover the fight, which again leads to less coverage.

Once again, Arum refuses to allow the network that broadcast the fight to release the numbers. Instead, he does it himself as always. Since Arum's reported numbers have traditionally been 40 percent more than the real numbers, this means that Pacquaio/Rios actually sold about 300,000 PPVs.

I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt Arum is going to pay Pacquaio $12 million from a PPV that sold 300 to 500,000 buys, so that means that Pac will make nowhere near that $30 million figure that Arum was tossing around a few weeks ago.

That number doesn't mean the fight was a failure. Top Rank got a huge site fee in China. Arum says Pacquiao will be going back soon.

Arum already put a hold on Mandalay in Las Vegas for April 12th for Pac return.

Like the other guy said. PPV numbers are meaningless if networks lose millions of dollars. Broner vs Maidana was originally set for PPV. It's was cancelled. It's now on regular programming. Guerrero was a huge flop. Deal with it. Hehe...
