You don't understand how this works. When fights are held abroad they automatically get less coverage by media in the US. Papers/TV networks often won't send out large media teams, or any, if it's too far away. Less coverage = less buzz = less PPV buys. This has been a well documented issue with the UFC when they air PPVs from abroad.

With that you also have the obvious problem of Rios being a horrible opponent with the awful undercard and the $70 PPV price tag.

Sad part is that Guerrero is less popular than Rios and Mayweather-Guerrero managed to pull in over 800k buys.

The Top Rank cash cow is dying, lets see if Arum finally throws him into the ring with Floyd in order to cashout.

Yeah i guess i dont know how they work.

How many PPV events have you put on? I mean you say you know the workings or are you just going on what you have heard or think.

Maybe just maybe it did poor cause it was a crap card with 2 losers headlining but that cant be. It must be China

Well apples and oranges. Floyd Guerrero was a flop because of Floyds huge guarantee. The fight had to sell 1.2 M to break even and it didnt.
Pacquaio sold 550k but nobody really knows how much Bob pays him so we dont now if it is a flop or not

That's why networks usually prefer regular fights by subscription. SHO just discarded the Broner/Maidana PPV.
Schaefer should have taken the Maidana/Broner to Singapore, which is more accessible geographically than Macau. I think it's Arum's next stop. Great small country, Singapore. Don't know about the taxes. It's probably similar to Macau.

I'm not sure how you got that out of what I said.

When the UFC does international events the PPV buys tend to be a few hundred thousand lower than what estimates expect.

Dead ass serious.... the numbers for Floyd/Guerrero, Pacquiao/Bradley and now Pacquiao/Rios and hopefully Floyd/Khan will force the fight everybody has been obsessing over since 2009.

These sub 1 million PPVs are actually good for us.

I don't get how ppl are saying because it was held in China it sold less. It was aired at the time the ppv's are usually aired.

It was a very weak card with two guys coming off of loses.

TR never announce their numbers so that number more than likely is lower.

The only winner here is Rios, after a loss he made $4million that is if he didn't get more brain damage than he already is
