Tunney must've lost to someone (before my time son) Ok... Frazier.. you got me there (although Klitschko never got bounced like a bowling ball). Louis lost to that German dude who was no alltime great.. his nationality made his name back then.. & If Bowe didn't get his Azz HANDED to him by Golota then I don't want to have a W ever again on my ledger.

You have to understand Planet Klitschko Speak: If you don't worship them and rate them better than the Ali, Louis, Holmes, Foreman, ect ect ect then in their minds you're ipso facto calling them Hasim Rahman or Trevor Berbick. It's all or nothing with the Klitlickers. Giving them anything less than GOAT statues means you're a "hater". That's how they operate. Check the poll: I voted "Average". Their opponents are what's garbage NOT the Klit's themselves. That being said, the Klits aren't ATGs either but being very good but not all-time great is a big difference from being crap. The nuthuggers are incapable of making that distinction.

How would you rank an overweight, old Lewis then?

As for Vitali's weaknesses, he's not so hard to hit, he relied on his own power and chin. His footwork and speed are not exceptional.

I think -you- are grossly overrating him

Even if he were easy to hit & he's really been ONLY hit once or twice in his career he can more than take it.. Lewis has been hit once or is that twice (I always forget) & couldn't take it.. so ANY version of Lewis disqualifies him automatically against EVERY type of opposition.




Klitschko has been defeated by having a shoulder separation & a severe cut in fights he was winning handily... so technically you can say HE'S NOT completely perfect either.. but I'd take those weaknesses over ANYONE else's & be confident of a W.. injuries & severe cuts happen less often in a bout than one being outboxed or getting Ktfo by one punch or anything else that is on a pure boxing scale that causes you to be defeated.

Yet for all these numbers, all these advantages, he is still 0-2 against the best, most accomplished boxers he ever stepped in the ring with.


It's pretty telling that Vitali's career defining performance came in a loss.

That's your opinion as he has had 45 other bouts where he has pitched virtual no-hitters.. so let's see...45 perfect bouts & two bouts that he was STILL winning but had to forfeit early due to physical handicaps that had occurred during the fights. IF all I had to define him by as you say by those two defeats..i'd be satisfied in the facts I won 12 of the 15 rds that were cumulatively fought while fighting half of those rds at a CLEAR physical disadvantage...In his victories he's won 92% of all the rds he's ever fought (A BOXING record for ANY champion in any weight class) & in his two defeats it dropped to 80%.. still better than 95 % of all heavyweight champions that have ever fought.. so no shame whatsoever.

The fact is, Lewis ripped open Klit's face with repeated straight rights and uppercuts. This tactic was the key to Lewis' victory.

Yes this thread is about the Klit's but it doesn't mean you have to combine their stats to try and make them seem better than what they actually are. I might as well tag team Lewis and Ali together but I wouldn't because it's pathetic.
