Lacy had alot of hype and was a big puncher, but he hadnt the skill set to remain on the world level,,

He was the betting favorite vs calzaghe, and the majority of people thought he would ko joe in a few rounds,,

But then joe showed how limited lacy was, and but a brutal brutal brutal beatdown on him..

I honestly think calzaghe ruined him, a pre-calzaghe lacy would have destroyed guys like manfredo in a few rounds, but after joe put that beating on him, it took his soul and i think did huge damage to reflexes, and corrdination, Calzaghe ruined him and turned him into a bum that made roy jones look like roy of the mid 90s

Omar Sheika showed how limited he was.

Joe didn't ruin him he was just always terrible.

I think he lifted too many weights. He got too muscular which slowed him down. He was a robot that got too bulky. He lost his handspeed

yeah but he beat shieka, it showed his limitations for sure and he still struggled, but i think Lacy was never the same after that joe beatdown..
He went from a limited power puncher, to being an absolute tomato can, and never winning another fight really...
Lacy from 2005 would have probably ko'd jones, or at least made it competitive and after joe fight, lacy was nothing more than a walking punching bag with no reflexes, explosiveness, etc

He could never punch at the top level.

He never looked like a hard puncher when he wasn't fighting bums.

He looked no different to me before the Cazlaghe fight people just say "he was never the same" because he just showed how bad he was.

He was pretty much the SMW Andre Berto if that. Calzaghe fans look at him like a prime mike tyson lol

You dont think he lost his aggressiveness after the calzaghe fight,, i wont debate that he was bad, because he was, but i think he went from bad, limited fighter to completely shot horrible fighter.. He seemed to have no desire or aggressiveness after the calzaghe fight--- seems to me that joe destroyed lacy's ego and pride and lacy was never again an aggressive puncher that we saw in the pemberton or reid fights

Don't forget the injury. It required surgery if I'm not mistaken.
