Imagine if Lacey never fought Joe but kept calling him out while only fighting washed up bums to hype his career? People would still be saying what he could have done etc etc.

Now think of Manny Pac in 2008-2009 and how his career has turned out at WW since not fighting Floyd Mayweather. same ****.

Lacey could have called out Joe and never fought him too while fighting bums while being labeled as the "next Mike Tyson" or "the one" to beat Joe.

It doesn't change the fact that Lacy was never that good and does little to nothing for Joe's career. Beating Roy Jones Jr years after being in his prime is more of a feat than beating Lacey who never accomplished anything before or after the fight. Hopkins is Joe's most meaningful "win" as Hopkins went on to win more titles and break records.

However the hype for Lacey at that time was shocking to me but it still doesn't change the fact that he ****** and accomplished nothing.

Pure nonsense. Calzage fought everyone at super middleweight except Sven Ottke. And the fights with RJ and B-Hop came late. But when RJ was ruling light heavy, Joe was ruling super middle, and B-Hop was ruling middleweight. Calzage was a bigger draw in the Europe than RJ and B-Hop were here. And the fights would have been bigger and made more money in Joe's backyard than they would have been anywhere in the US. So exactly why was Joe obligated to come here to make those fights happen? To my knowledge, you can catch a fleight from the US to Europe just as same as you can catch a flight from Europe to the US.

Im from canada & im just telling you that joe & guys like ottke were beating guys at home & you didn't hear about them because they stayed home like chris john does in the philipines. The WBO belt was a stepping stone trinket that most world title contenders from outside europe or the asian pacific would vacate to get a shor at one of the big 3. The WBO belt was lightly regarded & outside europe it wasn't recognized as a world title.... I think joe/froch would be a great fight & id expect joe to win but id take froch & his resume over joe's lightly regarded wbo reign at 46-0... Lacy & kessler were excellent wins but hopkins & rjj wins were way to late... Just my opinion...

Since I arrived in the Uk I've heard this argument over and over, well it's easy to make your argument for both sides if you look for facts to suit you but I think last Saturday answered all questions about this argument - Froch has been exposed for the limited boxer/fighter he is - he is tough can take a punch but is not in the class of Joe Calzaghe/Andre Ward /James Toney/ Roy Jones Jr or even Chris Eubank / Nigel Benn or Collins. Joe schools Froch he adapts to his opponents this is Joe's strength you can't train this you are either born with it or you are not. Joe would f beaten Ward, Toney a prime Jones Jr and don't be fooled despite Bernard Hopkins age when he fought Joe he was just as good and even in his prime he is rare he never lost it even up until then and Joe beat him in the States. Joe Is the best Super Middle of all time whether you admit it or not - I know Froch fans won't but they are dilussional.
