Did he sound punchy today? Yes he took a heck of a beating, but I don't think he needs to retire. He needs to go back and refocus. Think he might have taken Groves lightly, and got badly hurt in the first round.
I still see a second fight, where he fights very differently.

Plus he makes a lot of money on a Ward fight, and and Bute rematch, or buidling up a GGG fight.
Yes, he can make big purses with Bute and/or Ward... But I don't think GGG is a good idea by now -- Golovkin would retire him quite easily...

After this fight with Groves, what would you like to see in a Ward rematch?

He was also throwing back, how is that unanswered? Yea he turned away for a sec and the ref got him in a chock hold as he did. But how many times did froch turn away throughout the fight and on wobbly legs and hurt?

There were probably 5-10+ moments in that fight that Froch was hit as bad, so why didnt he stop it, but the moment groves looked a little hurt, he stops it?
what do you mean he wasn't wobbled? the only time I saw anyone hurt that bad was when froch got dropped. they slugged it out & I thought groves was clearly winning until that round. he was getting hit & from my vantage point I saw a beaten fighter. it was a great fight but I don't think it was that bad a stoppage. just my opinion. i'd love to see a rematch but it won't happen. you don't think groves was hurt then I guess we won't ever agree on this fight. what more can I say. we have different opinions on the result. I think it was a solid comeback win for froch. id rather see a rematch between these 2 then see a rematch with ward or bute...

True he can fight on longer because he started later, he just seemed slower and clumsier than usual and I don't think it was just Groves making him look bad.

Interviews prior to this fight he sounds to me like he has early symptoms of punch drunk syndrome and he seemed (maybe it's just me) that he was concussed in the post fight interview.
You could be right that he took Groves lightly because he got caught in the first round by a knockout punch and wasn't knocked down there after.

He can make a lot of money with the fighters you mentioned for sure but I don't think he needs it.
I know he won't retire now anyway but I'd just be happy for him to do so tbh.

four good clean shots without answer, no gaurd up and flailing arms and little coordination, a good indication he was in a bad place, i would like to have seen the fight continue but then im a blood thirsty guy who wants to see fights to near death but in this day and age that is not how its done, i think Groves was a class act actualy and was winning the fight but the rounds were often close, I do like Froch but in the build up to this fight he seemed worried and it was clear why, Groves gave a great account of himself but Froch was taking him to the trenches and Groves has never been there and in a scrap which it was becoming i think Froch wins and was on the verge of a KO but we will not no now, credit to both fighters for a great fight and im open to supporting both fighters in the future as they are both entertaining so i have no strong bias but i have backed Froch for longer but i dont get hardcore over anyone fighter to me thats madness.

Froch is a dirty mother****er. He's not even subtle like B-Hop, he blatantly fouls.

LMAO Groves looked like he was a level above Froch for most of the fight.

                  under estimated

That's what Frotch did n nearly got ko'd ,, It would have been a stoppage in next couple rounds anyway. He's better off staying away from Ward, I can't see a Froth win there.. rematch Kessler an then Groves again n maybe hang em up..... Groves can hold his head high

Terrible stoppage. Froch didn't even land a clean punch at time of stoppage lol! Both fighters were winging wild shots, both missed, Groves ducked under to get out of the way and the fight was stopped. Pathetic!
