Whatever your opinion on the stoppage I don't understand anyone not wanting a rematch. It was great entertainment.

It happens.
I'd like to see him retire with out sounding like James Toney.

ive seen worse stoppages but its true Groves outboxed and was ahead on the cards although some of the rounds were hard to call either way but Groves was going to get KO'd in round 9 maybe he would have lasted one more but he was on his way out and unlike Froch that was a place he was not used to been in while Froch has been in them trenches many times, id like to have seen it go on as i dont think any titile fight should end that way but Froch was winning with heart alone skill has never been his thing.

There were probably 5-10+ moments in that fight that Froch was hit as bad, so why didnt he stop it, but the moment groves looked a little hurt, he stops it?

Did he sound punchy today? Yes he took a heck of a beating, but I don't think he needs to retire. He needs to go back and refocus. Think he might have taken Groves lightly, and got badly hurt in the first round.
I still see a second fight, where he fights very differently.
Plus he makes a lot of money on a Ward fight, and and Bute rematch, or buidling up a GGG fight.

I thought it was stopped prematurely, but when I was watching that last round I couldn't help but feel Froch was going to stop him eventually, he started to catch Groves with a lot of clean shots and it seemed like it was starting to head Froch's way, maybe that was why the ref decided to stop it when he did.
I do think the ref made a bit of a bad judgement and stopped it too early but I don't think he stopped it to rob Groves of a win, I just think he thought it was heading towards the point where he would have had to stop it so decided to do it before he took more punishment.
I feel bad for Groves though, his big night ended in controversy and also the judges scorecards were a joke (I think the cards were a bigger joke than the referees decision), Groves surprised me a lot in this fight, proved a lot of us wrong and I think he made a lot of fans tonight.
