A case could be made I guess. Hatton was fighting floyd as good as anybody when floyd was potshotting, but between the refs premature breaks, and floyd's elbow, floyd was able to create the distance he needed to land combinations. Thats a fight that Hatton couldn't handle. After Hatton got the point taken for hitting behind the head, Hatton lost control and it was all downhill from there. Too big of a fight to let that happen biased ref or not.

Hatton vs May @ 140? Depends on where the fight is being held and who the ref is imo...

Floyd always has the it wouldn't of mattered anyway mystique surrounding him in all of his fights.

Example: "Floyd is so talented that he didn't need Cortez to help him win vs Hatton" While i agree, I think the fight would've been a much more harder match, had it of been someone like Bayless in the ring. It would've probably went the full 12 or ended at 12.

At no point in ricky hattons life or professional career, whether the fight was in his house, whether his dad was the ref, could he beat floyd mayweather. why can't people just accept this.

The lord blessed ricky with the ability to slug and consume large amounts of guiness. He could surely out eat or out drink floyd.

When it comes to boxing he is inferior to floyd in every way.

Floyd vs Hatton at 140 would have been worse for Hatton because Floyd was even faster at 140 then at 147, and he hit harder at 140 then at 147.Hatton fought a past his prime Mayweather,A prime Floyd at welterweight would have ko`ed Hatton even faster then the version that Hatton fought.

No,what you really mean is any fight between these two depends on whether the referee lets Hatton cheat.Holding and hitting-which is Hatton`s main bread and butter tactic-is illegal in boxing.Sure in the UK,the bias UK ref lets Hatton get away with anything he wants including pulling out a firearm, but in the U.S the ref actually enforces the boxing rules for a Hatton fight, because they don`t kiss Hatton`s "bum" like they do in the UK.Also, when the Ref let both of them fight on the inside,Floyd was still getting the better of Hatton most of the time anyway. So get over the fact that Floyd basically ended Hatton`s career(the version of Hatton that Pacquiao fought was already ruined by Floyd thus the 2 round destruction by Pacquiao, when has Pacquiao ever ko`ed a top fighter in 2 rounds?Thank You).

I could see why you hate Floyd, you still hav`nt got over the fact that Floyd destroyed your hero Ricky"the hype job" Hatton .

can potshotting get any faster? if that fight went down at 140 on the same date mayweather would have been eating the canvas he was running for his life while hatton was pursuing and attacking

Floyd was moving and hitting Hatton with power shots, and staying in the pocket at times and hitting Hatton with power shots which eventually made Hatton taste the mat and get ko`d.Floyd had more power and speed at 140 so he would have ko`ed Hatton faster at 140.Its funny because Floyd called Hatton out even before he went to 140 and while he was at 140,but Hatton turned it down.So they both wound up fighting each other at their unnatural weight because of Hatton ducking Floyd twice.
