Would have been interesting if it was in the M.E.N with Dave Paris or Mickey Vann basically giving Hatton every advantage possible in a reversal of Cortez/Mayweather

don't know if Hatton would have won under those circumstances but it certainly would have been a harder fight for Floyd, I also think Hatton wouldn't have lost his cool like he did and wouldn't have kamikazed

Not with fair but firm in there, no getting close but only boxing from the outside. Until Bernard fight then there's no holding or getting close.

"Regardless of the ref" was a kind way of saying Hatton wasn't good enough to beat Mayweather. He never was so crying about referees is moot. Cortez was overzealous but others have been too. Hatton smothered his own work when inside and once settled, Mayweather outboxed, out toughed and out fought Hatton. Good attempt but not good enough. Hang onto whatever conspiracy theories make you sleep better. Doesn't change anything.

Once settled meaning...after Cortez felt comfortable Hatton had taken enough big shots and taken a point off him. Cortez was never going to let them fight until he was sure Hatton posed no threat. He confirmed his bias in the Ortiz fight, these were Floyd's only two knockouts in his last 10 fights, Cortez central to both. That's just the reality.

With Cortez, Hatton couldn't beat Floyd if he were piloting an Apache.

Mayweather was settled from round three when he landed his his first of many combos on Hatton. Hatton had no answer but to continue bullrushing into tangles (much like his fight against Urango when turned to hugging when he couldn't out muscle his opponent, round 7 onwards). I understand some just can't accept the fact Hatton wasn't good enough but the THAT'S the reality of it all. Weight didn't make a difference and the ref made little to none. Whisper if you like..... "Hatton wasn't good enough".

No, it's like Freddie Roach said, Hatton was in the fight for 6 rounds. Cortez wouldn't let them fight freely until he felt Floyd was comfortable and Hatton was woozy from round 7 onwards, that's where all the "Floyd beat Hatton on the inside" nonsense comes from. Cortez was sent in to protect the money, and he did that, blatantly. It's not new in boxing, we see it all the time.

I'm sure I've seen this line of whining before. I never see this kind of crying for Stevie Smith (who got his eye split from a blatant Hatton elbow which the ref let pass). Hatton could've taken the fight earlier at 140lbs but "needed more time". Might've got his buddy Dave Parris if he did. Wouldn't have helped though. Hatton wasn't good enough.

Mayweather could've taken the fight earlier too, but "there's no way I'm travelling to England" despite Hatton being the bigger draw at the time and the man at 140.

At the end of the day, it was Hatton who took the risk of moving up a weight class, fighting in a foreign country, with a partial foreign ref and three foreign judges - not Floyd who refuses to travel and continues to duck the most dangerous fights. He's the one who's not good enough.
