    Come on, don't be silly.

People were saying Ward-Bute was THE fight at 168. Ring, I believe, even had Bute ranked higher than Ward!

Fair enough. I don't really particularly like either fighter, and don't care either way as to whether the fight happened or not (or their motivations). I just think it's fair to say Ward cleaned out the division. You can disagree.

Ward was hurt, Bute took the chance of fighting Froch rather than wait for Ward, and he got destroyed. Who gave a **** after that?

        Ward cleaned out his division.

In the end, Ward was right.

He stepped up, and was knocked silly by Froch.

Who was Butes best win while the Super Six guys beat the snot out of each other?

          Ancient ass Glenn Johnson?

except that's not the reason he didn't fight bute. the reason as he said himself was that bute hadn't prove himself. so the #1 guy who was a world champ and big star who fought on hbo had to prove himself but delvin rodriguez who was a back end top 10er didn't have to prove himself. this is called hypocrisy. anyone who makes up things to avoid fights is a bi-tch. ward can win me back if he ko's his next opponent. haha!

Can't confirm the months, but you're right. If Bute had taken a soft touch rather than fight Froch, Ward-Bute likely happens instead of Dawson.

When was he supposed to fight Bute but didn't? Ward was booked in the Super Six, got hurt in the final match of the Super Six, and was on the shelf healing. In that time frame between Ward's injury and return, Bute fought Froch and got destroyed. There was never a point where Ward took a fight that wasn't Bute but should have been. What Ward said is irrelevant.

but that's exactly what he wanted to happen he just didn't want to do it himself even though it would have been his biggest money fight. great fighters don't think like that. great fighters dont think well i hope this guy who would give me trouble loses. they say i'll fight you, you, and you to prove i'm the best. they don't need triangle theories.

                    Yeah.

                    That's it.

You got it all figured out.

so why did he say it then lol. he didn't say yeah i'll fight him when i heal. he said go prove yourself. he didn't say go prove yourself to bum rodriguez. he's a liar and a hypocrite and you are defending him for some strange reason. he just didn't want to fight bute. he knows boxing more than all of us so we should trust his judgement. this is the new breed of "greats" only fighting guys that fit their styles. dismissing others as unproven or unpopular. smart people can see through this charade they call boxing. we will never go back to the time of greats like ali, leonard, and ottke.
