Haye was one of my favorites in the heavyweight division so it's sad to see him go. Either way there will be other replacements in the near future of heavyweights to get excited about and before you know it you'll all forget about Haye. Boxing is exciting right now in other divisions so there's plenty of talent to keep you interested.

David Hayes entire "excitement" came from his mouth threatening to become HW king, it wasnt in the ring

              Nope.

But GMC said a conman couldn't unify a division and to that you said yes.

Personally, I kind of like him (he is an ******, but a talented one), but he has been a part time fighter for the last couple of years. His retirement won't make much of a difference to the division. The Klits aren't going to give him another shot anytime soon, and he is apparently not too interested in fighting anyone else decent.

that's how he fought in the biggest fight of his life. he took his shoe off and blamed his toe. the HW title used to be the most coveted title in sport. haye is an embarrassment to that notion.

the popularity of david haye is explicitly british. you're so british you think he's exciting. you cannot discuss the phenomenon without addressing that.
Most people would accept that over the past 5 years the HW division has been quite sour and Haye is one of, is not the most exciting guys to break that mould and look most capable of beating a Klit.

That's just the reality, he was an underdog and would rightly be against Vitali. But the HW division is lacking characters, is lacking guys with mouth's to back it up (I accept he doesn't always quite deliver) but it is what it is.

The Chisora, Valuev fights had a decent PR run, following, audience.

The lead up's to both the Wlad and Fury fights....had been some the biggest followed of the HW division of that time.

I'm not the biggest fan I don't mind him, but that's just how it is. He's the 3rd best HW in the world STILL, has a mouth, actually got a world belt, and often delivers KO's. How on earth could he not have been one of if not the the most exciting HW boxers at the top level in this shit era?

Tell me who else has been as followed, talked about, covered in the media, watched, has won a belt, been ranked top 10 that stands over him? Face it, good or bad press, shit talking or not, he was sadly one of the better things going for HW attention.

He has more hypothetical wins than anyone in history. He will be sorely missed in theory.

I actually used to like Haye before he turned into a celebrity conman. He had a very good run through the Cruiserweight division, but I thought he ducked Steve Cunningham then moved up to Heavyweight.

Since moving up, Haye has continually lied and conned, and gullible people have lapped it up. He has made a ton of money selling **** fights, without doing anything of note in the division. An absolute embarrassment who is only interested in being a celebrity these days.

I would be glad to see the back of the David Haye circus, although I have the su****ion that we haven't. I would not be surprised to see him fight a Klitschko next year.

The only annoyance is that his boxing career wasn't ended by a brutal knockout at the hands of Tyson Fury.

Hopefully now we can see the real men can fight.
