that's a silly notion, that haye did poorly against wladimir only because he didn't try hard.

he did not have the talent to compete with the klitschkos. union jack tinted glasses. khan lost to garcia because of a lucky punch too, right? same lucky punch that almost knocked matthysse's eye out of his socket?

it's clear that haye tried to stall his career out to get a shot at an aging vitali. anybody who can't see that isn't looking hard enough. he wanted a huge payday and a 42 year old with a 10 year history of serious injuries.
I think it's quite clear I'm not Haye's biggest fan but if you want to make it about being British then that's your prerogative.

      You fat Yank ****.

He didn't try hard enough. He was throwing one punch at a time, looking to hit a home run against Wladimir. I have seen Haye fight enough to know that he can do more than that.

Tyson Fury said it best - he couldn't get a few shots off in the first few rounds and then he just wanted to survive and collect his cheque. He went for it a bit in the 12th but rounds 4-11, he just didn't really bother.

Doesn't feel any different than his 1 fight in 2.5 years

Still believe personally that he had the most chance to beat a klitschko, darn shame.

            have you seen my picture?

surely that's just some childish defense mechanism. rates of obesity in our two countries aren't far apart. you guys aren't exactly athletic, after all, and we are the most storied athletic nation of all time. the GOATS, if you will.

I'm a fan, so it's a bad thing for me.

I loved his fights for the most part, and that's all that I care about. A con artist doesn't unify his division, then move up and win a title at HW against far bigger opponents. He was a very good fighter, he just allowed a lot of time to go by wasted. He should have been active and smashing through these poor HW's.

Haye may have been on the juice like all of your athletes. That would explain his 1 fight a year policy and constant injuries. I don't know though....you guys are the experts.

actually, that's exactly what he did.

he won a con artist title and defended it in con artist fashion. he talked his way into a fight with wladimir [suggesting that he'd take his head off along the way,] and blamed his F#CKING TOE. he won his "World championship" against valuev in a pitiful showing. he defended it against john ruiz and audley harrison. i'm just going to say that twice. he defended it against john ruiz and audley harrison.

his best win at HW is chisora coming off of two losses.

he was a complete fraud, a fabrication, a thief, and a conman.

NE how any why have you turned this into a Brit vs USA thing bringing that up. Almost totally pointless in this thread, for christ's sake man.

He was the most exciting HW at the top, fact. That is good for boxing. Brings in fans and money to our sport. Like him or not that's good.

                      I agree.

Looking at his HW stint as a whole, if it ends now, there's no denying it has been a disappointment.
