He was the most exciting HW, which is good for boxing. Like him or not.
surely you're joking. you cannot possibly believe that the rest of the world thinks this way.
did you see the biggest fight of his life?
that's how he fought in the biggest fight of his life. he took his shoe off and blamed his toe. the HW title used to be the most coveted title in sport. haye is an embarrassment to that notion.
the popularity of david haye is explicitly british. you're so british you think he's exciting. you cannot discuss the phenomenon without addressing that.

He's not retiring any more than Mayweather was retiring in 2007 or his own fake retirement in 2011.
It's just a PR sympathy line designed to reduce the damage of spoiling the Fury fight.
He'll be back, like a bad smell.

Bad because I believe he had the talent to compete with the Klitschkos. He had the best chance of anyone out there of beating them. There were some big fights out there involving him.
Good because he's a con artist. A salesman. He wastes everyone's time with ****ty fights and fake injuries. He's heart is not in boxing, he uses it as a way to become a celebrity. Therefore he'd probably never have the conviction to go out and actually beat a Klitschko. He'd be happy collecting his cheque and laying another egg in the ring.

He'll be back. Hopefully Grandpa Vitali brutalizes him.
The sad fact is, if he comes back for a Vitali fight, and somehow wins, he'll just 'retire' again
