Every team that is confident in their fighter winning is technically cherry picking their opponent. How many fighters go into a fight not believing they'll win because they're better than their opponent? Floyd admitted that he measured Guerrero up by comparing him to Cotto. Team Pac picked Rios (wrongly bc of knock out) because they thought he matches up stylistically well for them. It's nothing new in boxing.

Floyd Mayweather is the number #1 fighter so every fight of his can be argued as a cherry pick. Pacquiao, apparently, is still number #2 so he's held to high standards as well.

Rios is 1-1 at 140, but Alvarado is bigger than many welterweights on fight night - bigger than bradley and marquez who beat pacquiao. And Manny's small as fck, let's not act like pacquiao is large or some sht and will surprise Rios with his massive size. Rios is the naturally bigger man, he's bigger than Pac, Floyd, Bradley and Marquez who some consider among the best fighters.

And Ortiz and Guerrero suck, they've both quit. They're mentally weak and it showed versus Floyd ONCE AGAIN. Rios has never quit, will never quit. That in itself makes him more credible cause he isn't cut from b1tch cloth.

Of course its a cherry pick for a fighter coming off a brutal KO loss.

Both Manny and Rios are on losing streaks so I don't have a problem with it.

Guerrero and Marquez would beat Rios though lol

3 is more than 0 any way you cut it. Hatton may have lost. either way they had ww fights before fighting floyd. can't say same for Rios.

either way be consistent-if you don't like blowouts on paper don't like them for every fighter, not just one.
              Someone tell Hopkins:

"Brandon can punch. Are you serious? They are brave as hell. Listen, if Pacquiao fights this fight after getting knocked out like that - I have to take my hat off to him because that's a brave move. It's a not a good business move, but that's a brave move. But I guess they want to come back so quick to show that he's okay, but to me that's even worse."

JMM had 2 fights at LW, 0 at JWW and 0 at WW before facing Floyd.

Ortiz had 0 fights at 147 proper before facing Floyd. He imposed a catchweight on Berto, remember? Coincidentally the only time he beat a decent fighter in 5 tries.

Guerrero probably wouldn't, and IMO neither would JMM. When has he even beat someone like Rios? He went life and death with Juan Diaz who's also face first, but has a small fraction of Rios' power and chin. FFS Diaz surprised Paulie by getting hurt against him. Juan also got dropped very hard against Katsidis, who's a lot smaller and worse than Rios.

Bhop is entitled to his opinion. I disagree with him on this.

True, which is in part why people had a problem with the fight. SO the same thing should apply.

Like I said to shade-if you are a poster that doesn't like fights that are blowouts on paper-be consistent.
