Yeah he fought again, but not at the elite level. You just don't comeback from getting KTFO
Again, there are more fighters than Roy Jones Jr getting knocked out in history. Believe it or not.

Fighters have been knocked out cold before and come back to perform well at the top level.

A good one that gets overlooked is Marshall over the great Ezzard Charles. Knocked him down 8 times and stopped him lol.

Then look at the guys he beat after that

If we're talking bad stoppage loss's like that when they weren't out cold but badly hurt and stopped then the list goes on and on and on.

Like Duran against Hearns for example, wasn't out cold but badly hurt. Harold Johnson against Oakland Billy Smith. The list really goes on.

When you look at guys getting knocked out cold, the list of course get's shorter but there's still plenty of examples.

Take Terry Norris against Julian Jackson for example, knocked out cold but came back to have good success and a HOF career.

Matthew Macklin, knocked out cold by Jamie Moore and went on to do very well at world level and is probably in his prime now or close.

Lennox Lewis was used as an example earlier against Rahman, came back to do well.

I used Marlon Starling against Molinares. Came back in his very next fight to beat Honeyghan.

All cases in which coming back from being knocked out cold to perform well.

It's absolutely possible for a fighter to come back from a bad KO loss.

Sure is, Pac could come back strong. But Pac may be at the tail end of his career, has been taking punches from bigger guys for years, and that first KD to JMM may indicate his chin might be cracked.

Oh, absolutely. I'm just highlighting that just because he got knocked out cold doesn't mean he's finished or his chin is cracked. And other's have bounced back.

I mean, you don't even need to be knocked out cold to have your chin and resistance cracked and forever damaged. Just look at Trinidad-Vargas as an instant example. Vargas wasn't knocked out cold but his chin was cracked and never the same again.

I'm not saying Pacquaio is the same guy. There's definitely a strong chance he's not. I was so shocked when Marquez dropped him, literally could not believe my eyes. You get so used to seeing Pacquaio take any punch. It's a real shame because Prime Pacquaio truley has one of the all time great chins. But, it likely won't be remembered that way now.

Same with PWill, he was eating them like candy before Martinez 2. IMO he didn't show a cracked chin vs Lara, who hit him with the kitchen sink and never dropped him. But he was nowhere near as worn as Pac at that point.

Also you have to consider Pacquaio has been a pro at a high level for a long long time. Took a lot of punches in his career. Let's say he get's through it, he's still near the end.

Williams showed a good chin but Pacquaio has shown a great chin, an amazing chin actually.

I think the KO definitely affected Williams, I don't think he was ever the same.

I'm actually really looking forward to the fight next week in all honesty. And Froch-Groves earlier in the night.

I do still think Pacquaio should have enough to get passed Rios. We'll see though.

Where do you rank Pacquiao on the ATG list?
