and i agree with this and i think it all has to do with pedigree. mikey just has it, it wss handed down to him and from what ive seen of the family and its' many fighters, blood relation or otherwise, he is the perfect combination of what they wanted to instill in a fighter. but part of me feels like mikey is an underachiver. like he likes to wait until his back is against the wall and his ass is on fire, otherwise it wouldnt be fun, itd be too easy. im pretty sure thats what it is. his personality and comments suggest it. and in the ring it makes sense the way he toys with guys. mikey is a prodigy tho, hes a complete boxer.

his composure is as impressive as his skill IMO..he's a calculating boxer that knows exactly what he wants/needs to do


even in his interviews, you can see that we have a very cerebral boxer on our hands...he's on my short list of must-watch fighters

Juanma is damaged goods from those salido fights, but mikey cant help that,,,
in 2012 juanma and salido were considered the top 2 feathers, and in 2013 mikey handled them like a boss should,,
And broner going from 135-147 is nothing when your fighting a washed up aging fighter with zero power, who just got beatdown by a journeymen and got a gift decision,,, pauli and burns are the 2 worst champs in the sport,, going up in weight vs pauli is not the same as going up to welter and tangling with say bradley, ghost, ortiz, alexander, maidana, etc



Very true,,, Garcia has skills and poise, and great ring generalship,,, broner has skills, but not alot of poise and ring generalship,,,

No he didn't go up and beat a top tier opponent, but he did go up and beat a 2nd/3rd tier ww from 135. that counts in my book, no matter if he failed to win in the way many, including me, expected.

I think Mikey is further ahead then Broner is for sure.

lol, i dunno if u 2 would get along in reasl life tho, his favorite boxer by far is floyd mayweather, which is understandable. hes probably one of the few who can understand what hes doing in the ring when he does it.

it's funny how only around a year ago people thought a bout vs Gamboa would be a mismatch in Yuri's favor...for me, i think it would be the other way around

broner is a true clown. but honestly, i think he knows it. he just doesnt care. my concern for him is like u said, the extracurricular activities. is he strong enough to stay committed to the boxing game, i have my doubts.

Yes Mikey should be Top 10 before Broner because Mikey has went out and looked more and more impressive as he steps up competition, sure he has his Flaws hell every fighter does but his Positives overshadows his Negatives and that is all you can ask for! Mikey is probably the most impressive young fighter to be honest with the potential to be a excellent ALL AROUND BOXER!

mikey is a legit p4p guy right now,,,

broner needs to beatdown maidana, and he will be in the running,,, outside of the demarco fight, broner has never looked very good in any of his big fights,,,
