Good point. Mikey GG and Broner pass the eye test with me. Now it's time for all of these guys to step up.

Mikey looks so much better to me. A really complete fighter. I'll take being the best featherweight in the world at one point over being arguably the best lightweight at one point.

in fairness bojangles broner beat the #1 LW so its hard to say arguably for him and not for mikey.

neither guy deserves to be in the top ten p4p YET...if mikey beats uchiyama next then i would definitely consider him for top ten p4p. the martinez win was a nice first win at 130 but to be perfectly honest martinez was a fake champ.

I won't take Broner's win away from him, but at lightweight there was some question about DeMarco and Vasquez and Abril. There was no question when Garcia beat Salido, Salido was the man.

Even if Broner's inarguably the best LW at the time, I'll take Garcia being the best FW over that.

Is there any reason Garcia-Uchiyama wouldn't happen? Promotional issues or whatever?

Who had questions, you? What made Salido the best fw in your eyes?

Uchiyama's promoters don't like fighing outside of Japan too much I would think. That's usually the issue in making fights with Japanese champions. Some like Nishioka, will travel to the US, and Akifumi Shimoda did as well for a defense against Rico Ramos on HBO.

I don't see HBO pushing Garcia to fight Uchiyama, even though that's clearly the best fight at the weight.

When Garcia moved up, he dominated and stopped the world champion he faced. When Broner moved up, he struggled and won a more competitive than expected fight with Malignaggi. P4P also includes recent form, and Mikey has looked better recently than AB.

Respectfully, chris john is universally ranked higher but doesn't leave Indonesia. So it would be the same thing as Broner relative to the LW.
