No he didn't. And don't forget Nonito knocked Rigo down. Rigo outboxed Nonito, that's a fact, but that doesn't make Donaire suddenly bad - exposed with a lack of skill. He just got outboxed and couldn't knock out Rigo when he put him down. Donaire's fine and will be back. His arrogance is what made people start disliking him.

He didn't show an ability to do very basic things against rigo. nonito couldn't cut off the ring, couldn't deal with movement, "forgot" to jab. Yes he got a KD but that fight made many revevaluate him.

Yes, they are all things he can learn, even at his age so he can get much better. I just doubt that Bob risks his earning (and top ranks profit margin) potential with another matchup that reduces the importance of power to win.

Nonito doesn't appear to have what he needs to beat the guys mentioned.

He knocked him down on a sucker punch on the break . You're right, it doesn't expose him. He is still an elite fighter around those divisions. He is just clearly not the best of the bunch. It was totally all his excuses and threats before and after the Rigondeaux fight that caused most of the dislike for Donaire. Before that he was almost universally liked.

He just comes across as one of those people who tries way too hard to be liked. Somehow he thinks he is an "entertaining" fighter. Dude, it's the punching bags in front of you that make it "entertaining."

I feel like he really thought he would be the next Manny Pacquiao. If I had gif skills I would put Manny's "so you want to be like me?" right on Nonito's face.

anyway: he obviously beats vic who is a midget for 126 , next up are JuanMa and Johnny Gonzalez. Will never fight a stop skilled boxer again. So no Mikey.

WTF is that supposed to mean? You sound like the Chavez Jr fans holding on to that 12 round KD of Martinez. Rigo was NOT hurt and came back and whooped Donaire's ass for the rest of that round and the rest of the fight.

And if you wanna talk about KDs then lets talk about Rigo making Donaire cover his eye like a little b*tch. Actually, scratch that, Rigo made Donaire his b*tch the whole fight.

the excuses after the fight were absolutely pathetic.

LOL. Reading this thread makes me remember how fun the Donaire/Rigo build up since 2012, the announcement of the fight, the lead up to the fight, Donaire "winning the staredown", the schooling itself and the aftermath was on this board.

In Nonito's defense, cutting off the ring is a dying art.

What about Mikey Garcia and Rigondeaux,

When you lose to somebody, a true champion doesn't quit until he gets him back. Like Pacquiao refusing to quit with marquez until he beats him convincingly.

                      Mikey has the same trainer.

He's said he wants Rigo at FW, not SBW. Rigo made it clear he isn't moving up.
