  • Comments Thread For: Donaire Interested in Facing Salido After Darchinyan

On Saturday evening in Corpus Christi, TX, former champion Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire will face Vic Darchinyan in a rematch of their 2007 fight that Donaire won with a thrilling one punch knockout. The 30-year-old Donaire said that he went back to basics in his preparation for this fight.

"We are training hard. We are trying to go back to who I was, a person who is smart, a person who is fast. The problem with me was the muscle memory wasn't there anymore when I was throwing combinations I wasn't pulling and only the power was coming out," Donaire told BoxingScene.com shortly after Orlando Salido recaptured the WBO featherweight belt with a knockout victory over Orlando Cruz in Las Vegas.

Wonder why he's not mentioning Lomachenko as an opponent?

Salido's belt is actually Lomachenko's, Orlando is just holding it for him. Why don't you mention Vasyl as an option Nonito?

Looks like Nonito is going back to his strategy of selecting opponents to make him look good again. Probably call out Juanma after Salido if that fight happens.

So he's basically running away from Rigondeaux at bantamweight

Salido vs. Loma is a done deal.

Then Gary Russell is the mando for the winner of that fight.

salido said the only reason he fought cruz at 126 was because it was for a title otherwise he was planning on moving up,he said it's hard making weight,so he's going to fight lamachenko next and stay again at 126,it's obvious he's doing it because it's probably a good payday and if donaire is next he'll probably sacrifice again for the money, you always want a fighter to be at his best and salido probably wont be,he should just move up,good fights at 130 with mendes, garcia, rocky

So Rigo has no life outside of Donaire??? Maybe you salivate over seeing a rematch of a boring fight but I don't.
