I totally blame his team. It is their fault.

Beat me too it, I'm always reading about how McGirt pulls the plug far too fast, but he knows his fighters. Hes been a fighter himself. He knows sometimes fighters have too much heart for their own good. Forget all this macho bull**** about finishing a fight, if your out of the fight by the end of the 8th/9th, your corner should pull you out instead of letting you go them extra 3/4 (in this case end of the 7th for a 10 rounder). 9-12 minutes with a professional puncher when your too fatigued to protect yourself or punch back is life threatening.

Victor Ortiz is another fighter who gets unnecessary **** in here. He realised on the night he didn't have it in the tank too compete with maidana. He saved himself to fight another day.

I hope he recovers well. Why they let him go on that long when there were clear injuries is surprising. I know he's a warrior, and you hate to stop a fight, but damn man.

No No no no they where both sensational and entertaining it shows just how hard Perez hit this guy and he never went down i hope he is ok. Really got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when i read this one.

And remember hindsight is always 20/20 all the people saying is the corners fault at the moment they probably thought it was mostly cosmetic and the guy didn't seem to be bothered that much mostly with how he looked i never heard him complaining of pains goes to show his balls.

This whole situation could go one way or the other depending on the severity of his injuries.

It makes me love this sport and hate it at the same time.

What this guy put out in the ring under those circumstances shows that most of these fighters have more heart and balls than most of us will ever know.

So whether you like a fighter or not, or don't approve of the stuff he does outside of the ring doesn't mean you should ever wish true harm upon him. I think we're all a little guilty of that sometimes, and this kind of situation brings us back to reality.

True that. People need to realise that boxing is more than a sport. It is sometimes life and death.

You dont play boxing, you do boxing.
Buddy is a great trainer. I like how he stops the fights. Yeah no need to go the distance if you get beaten up.
Ortiz is a smart figther. No need to take any beating. His jaw was broken.

I hope he is able to make a full recovery. Weather he fights again at this point is really not important. What is important is that he comes through this with all his faculties.
Boxers/Fighters put their lives on the line for our entertainment everyday. Not the Promoters, Trainers, Seconds, etc... I wish somehow, someway The business of Boxing could check the greed and institute some type or retirement/disability, etc... for these fighters so when things like this happen, the ones providing the substance of the entertainment have something to fall back on.
Promoters, Trainers, seconds can always find another to make money off of, but what about the fighter because that's who we the fans are paying to see.
