so it seems like the trial is coming up soon because they got some of the early stages done.
Golden Boy might not want it to go to trial because they look like they're in some deep 5hit
Then GBP has grounds to sue Arum for interfering.
All this is just the beginning Arum probably won't even be breathing when this ends and Canelo probably will be done as a high earner. This is all just the beginning because everything will get appealed in a court that is favorable to GBP then it will get appealed again and may go back to a lower court. These things take forever
It will likely get settled like all lawsuits and I doubt Canelo leaves GBP as part of that, Zabala will probably accept some money and some points of future earnings and that is if this first part goes well.

According to sources in Mexico, the legal battle over WBC junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is likely heading to trial in at the Dade Country courthouse in Miami, Florida. The case is in the final stage of discovery and the next step would be the announcement of a trial date. In 2009, promoter Felix "Tutico" Zabala of All Star Boxing sued Golden Boy Promotions for allegedly interfering with his contract. Zabala claims Canelo signed a four year promotional contract with his company in 2008, and there was a clause that extended the contract in the event Canelo became a world champion. Golden Boy has disputed the validity of Zabala's promotional claim and believe their company is the only valid promoter of the Mexican superstar.
