this site reported that the case was getting ready to go to trial back in February

    http://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-pr...e-trial--62161

    FightHype reported this sept 25th

    the judge said this

    http://www.*********.com/Boxing/all-...alvarez-227250

so it seems like the trial is coming up soon because they got some of the early stages done.

Golden Boy might not want it to go to trial because they look like they're in some deep 5hit

Then GBP has grounds to sue Arum for interfering.

All this is just the beginning Arum probably won't even be breathing when this ends and Canelo probably will be done as a high earner. This is all just the beginning because everything will get appealed in a court that is favorable to GBP then it will get appealed again and may go back to a lower court. These things take forever

It will likely get settled like all lawsuits and I doubt Canelo leaves GBP as part of that, Zabala will probably accept some money and some points of future earnings and that is if this first part goes well.
They have to prove it first.

Although he's an excellent boxing technician, Rigo has 3 strikes against him that will prevent the him from ever being a star in the sport.

      1. He's ugly. He reminds me of one of the flying monkeys from the wizard of Oz.

      2. He doesn't speak a word of English (only popular Puerto Ricans and Mexicans can get away with that)

      3. He doesn't have an exciting fan friendly style. He will only appeal to the diehards who enjoy tactical actionless fighting. The paying casual fan wants to be entertained.

Lmao I love how Richard is trying to spin this, fact is in 2013 the top 14 rated non ppv events were dine by hbo, he us clearly and top rank are getting better ratings, making mote money and are putting on more exciting fights

All gb have done is make no money from ppvs which he admits and gave their fighters losses vs Floyd

Great management lol this guy is just humiliating himself like an ex who has been dumped by hbo

Unfortunately, I don't see an end in sight for the GBP-Top Rank feud. The only thing that will bridge the gap would be a Mayweather-Pacquiao gap. And that one probably will never happen. And now that Showtime and HBO have been pulled into it, its created a bigger mess.

In the end, I blame the fighters moreso than the promoters. It makes absolutely no sense for top level fighters to sign multi-fight contracts with a promoter or a network. I can understand a prospect signing. I can understand a contender signing in order to get a title shot. But once you establish yourself a top guy, there's no need to be joined at the hip with a promoter or network.

In the end, its the fans that suffer. At this point, boxing basically has two independent leagues. You have the GBP/Showtime league. And you have the Top Rank/HBO league. And there's no way the two will mix. Its bad. Don King ripped off a lotta fighters. But rarely, if ever, did he do the fans like these clowns are doing today.

I don't think there's a human on this planet that uglier than Bernard Hopkins. He barely speaks english. And he's even more boring than Rigondeaux. Yet he managed to become a star in the hardcore community.

Do you think Pac-Rios and Bradley-JMM combined will half the numbers Floyd-Canelo did?

You know Arum is dying for a latino star. He literally has no one besides Garcia and he is a damned 126 lb'er.

hed sign Canelo ins a heartbeat especially since the almighty bust that has been chavez JR

Good luck selling Bradley at a PPV star.

right on point. there is no way Martinez sells more than Canelo in any given day, plus there is the factor of who of Mayweathers two sons is "el mas macho" (I hope Lupe Contreras won't sue me lol)
