This documentary was bias towards SRL

When Duran was explaining what happened that night, they had SRL talking over it.

WTF? The whole point was to find out what really happened that night and the only one who could say it was Duran. Typical bias editing.

I like that, because it kind of struck home the point that Duran didn't even know why he quit. He started saying the weight, then coffee, so basically he was running through all the excuses we'd already heard.

I hate that the point pretty much ended up being, "Leonard forgives Duran," which made me not like the ending, but that part was good. Duran has nothing to offer but excuses, because he can't even explain what happened that night.

I had no idea Panama Lewis was in Duran's corner for the first Leonard fight. "Hands of Stone, huh"????

No seriously, I would never disrespect Duran and I don't believe any funny business was going on with this all-time great, but I have to admit the irony of his nickname and Panama Lewis' notoriety made me think for a second...

the truth of the matter is he quit because he couldn't deal with the style in the 2nd fight. duran has never been able to admit that........even the panama fans see through the excuses. first it was cramps, then it was his arms being too weak (his body was weakening and he didn't feel like he would be able to last through 15 rounds is what he said) then it was leonard not fighting like a macho man. excuse after excuse after excuse............not to mention that leonord was fighting fire with fire in the 1st fight and never even thought about quitting (he fought durans fight in the 1st bout) as ray says "i would have rather died in that first fight then to quit" but duran quits in the 2nd bout because the style is too much for him O.O.........thats telling.
I don't doubt Duran quit because he was frustrated, Leonard was fighting like a clown, Duran had a big W over him, was partying hard after the 1st fight, wasn't quite the same mentally or emotionally, and probably quit.

But he still doesn't owe anyone, especially Leonard, an explanation or anything else. Duran wanted the rematch, Leonard made him wait 10 years. If anyone owes an apology, it's Lenard for not giving him the immediate shot the way Duran did for leonard.

Leonard knew "no mas" was going to light a fire in Duran, and he stayed far away from that 3rd fight.

You honestly think Duran was entitled to a rematch after "No Mas"???

Leonard had fought his heart out for 15 rounds in Montreal. He deserved a rematch.

I love Duran and rank him highly, but he put himself out of title contention by quitting. I can't imagine that an immediate third match would have even sold.

I watched it last night and enjoyed it quite a lot. I was just a boy of 10 when the fight happened but I remember how awesome it was when Duran quit. As I learned more about boxing the more I respected Duran. Looking back I can't help but think Duran just believed that he couldn't make the fight his own. There was no way he was going to get SRL to engage in the fight that Duran could win. Whether this was because he was becoming gassed or some other reason we will never know. I just figure he knew he couldn't fight this way for a full 8 more rounds. Duran dictated how the first fight went and SRL dictated the second.

But the ending was awful. It was like Leonard himself paid for the entire thing the way they made Duran out to be a bad guy. The way Leonard said he forgave him and acted like he was on a hugher pedestal than Duran.

Duran is a top 10 fighter of all time, even towards the end of his career he knocked out Iran Barkley which historally is just a ridiculously good win. Duran doesn't need to ask no one in this sport for acceptance or for an apology.

And he sure as heck doesn't owe Leonard a damn thing. Dude beat Leonard the first time and had to wait 10 years for a rematch after he lost the 2nd fight. Duran don't owe anyone ****.
agreed 100%, ray looks like he hasn't moved on from ****..

I also didn't have a clue that they had a 3rd fight lmfao
